Charlie was feeling 100 times better and her and max were currently on their way to his family home where Sophie and Victoria lived. It was the Verstappen family meal tonight and Charlie was quite nervous. "Max, what if your mom doesn't like me?" Charlie panicked. "She'll love you. Vic absolutely adores you and my dad really likes you. Stop stressing." Max laughed as they pulled up on their driveway.

As soon as they got through the door Vic attacked Charlie in a hug "God I've missed you". Charlie laughed and hugged her back. Sophie was behind Vic and also hugged Charlie which she didn't expect "hi, I'm Max's mom Sophie. Come through to the living room. Max be a gentleman and take Charlie's suitcase upstairs". Charlie followed Sophie, max gave her a reassuring smile before he went upstairs. Charlie and max were only staying one night and they would leave the next morning to go back to Monaco.

"I'm so glad to finally meet you, Vic and Max have been telling me so much about you" Sophie smiled sitting on the sofa next to Charlie. "Haha, it's lovely to meet you too. Thank you so much for having me over for dinner." Charlie replied. "It's no problem dear, I think it's nice max..." As Sophie was about to finish max walks in "max what?". "Nothing son" Sophie laughed. As this the door bell went, "that must be dad!" Victoria jumped up to answer the door.

Charlie said hello to Jos and then her and max went upstairs to his room to get changed for tonight. "What do I wear? What are you wearing? Is it casual? But then I want to impress your parents, but the I don't want to look like a try hard." Charlie said flopping onto Max's bed. Max just laughed "you don't need to impress my parents, just wear jeans and a t-shirt. You look great in anything." Charlie blushed.

Jos and Charlie were the only ones sat round the table and max helped his mom and sister cook the steaks, it wasn't long for max to come into the dining room "I've been told I'm not allowed in the kitchen". Charlie decided to go help Sophie and Victoria as max wasn't much help. Once they were all sat round the table with their food the general chit chat started. Charlie thought it was so nice Jos and Sophie were civil, even though they weren't together they could come together for their children.

"So Charlie what do you for a living?" Sophie asked. "Well I take pictures and write a blog about my adventures for a local Monaco magazine but I have just quit." Charlie smiled. "Wait what?!?" Max was surprised as he hasn't heard this. "I was meaning to tell you at Silverstone but I had to leave early and it slipped my mind. In Britain during the F2 race I was spotted taking pictures and the f1 magazine offered me a job so basically I will travel to every race, take pictures, send them to the official f1 magazine and they will be published." Charlie explained. "Oh my god! Congrats! I'm so proud of you" max raised his glass "to Charlie's new job". Everyone else raised their glass, Charlie blushed as she didn't like being centre of attention.

"Right I best be off, I have an important business meeting tomorrow. Thank you for the meal Sophie. Hopefully I will see you in the future Charlie. Good night all." Jos said once the meal was over and he hugged everyone. "Right lets grab a drink and let's sit outside round the fire. Max you set the fire up and Mom you can sort the seats out. Me and Charlie will do drinks" Victoria ordered. "Right what drink do you want? I've got mom to buy you a bottle of your favourite wine, so you can have that. I'll just give max some beers." Victoria said while getting all the drinks ready. "A bottle all to myself?" Charlie was worried as a bottle was quite a lot and she hadn't drank alcohol for a while and she didn't want it going straight to her head. "You'll be fine" Victoria giggled. "You're a bad influence Vic." Charlie giggled.

When they got outside there was a fire pit with two single chairs and one double seated chair. Sophie was on one of the single chairs and Vic sat on the other with left ten double one for Charlie and max. Charlie's teeth started to chatter, despite it being summer once the sun had gone it was quite cold. Max noticed this and went and got blankets from inside for Charlie. Charlie then snuggled up to max who had his arm around her pulling her in close.

"So what's your plans for the summer break?" Sophie asked Charlie. "Oh I haven't even thought about it, we've all been so busy. Stoffel hasn't told me he had anything planned so I'm guessing nothing." Charlie said, she was a little dishearten nothing had been planned as she loved going on holiday. "Max and Vic are off to Ibiza with Dave and Mark and i think Daniels going" Sophie explain, Charlie felt a little awkward as she hadn't heard anything about this. Max just nodded at his mom but didn't say anything to Charlie.

After some time had passed max decided to go up to bed, "we'll finish our drinks and then I think we'll all go to bed too" Victoria explained to max. "So now it's just us girls I want to say Charlie I have never seen max act this way about a girl before. Especially so early on, you obviously mean a lot to him" Sophie smiled. "Well it hasn't been an easy road but hopefully this time it will work" Charlie blushed. "What do you mean 'this time'? Also I want the full story how you and max met, you see my sons useless he only tells me half a story" Sophie asked. "Well I feel a bit awkward telling you this" Charlie laughed "but me and max met at a party him and Daniel held for me and Stoffel as we had just moved in the same apartment block. Stoffel had told me his girlfriend was also moving in, which I was so happy about but I didn't want to be a third wheel. I knew max was looking for a new place so I asked him to also move in. He took me on a date, something bad happened, we made up and something worse happened and now we're getting back on track." Charlie explained. "God my son needs to man up a bit" Sophie laughed.

"Thank you for a lovely night Sophie and Vic." Charlie hugged them both before going upstairs. "It was a pleasure meeting you, hopefully we can do this again. Me and Vic are going to Amsterdam early in the morning so we won't be around when you two wake up." Sophie smiled.

"What took you so long" max said once Charlie entered his room, he was lying on top of his bed topless with a pair of shorts on. Charlie tried not to stare at his perfectly toned body. "Just talking" Charlie smiled "now close your eyes I need to get dressed for bed" chalice laughed. "What? It's not like I haven't seen that body before" max got up and stood very close to Charlie however Charlie swatted his chest which sent him falling back on the bed. "Now do it! And no peeking" Charlie blushed. Once Charlie was changed she was surprised to see that Max still had his eyes shut, "you can open them now" Charlie said once she was under the duvet. Max only had a double bed so they had to share, neither of them minded as they've shared a bed before.

"It was so lovely tonight, thank you for bringing me along" Charlie smiled and she cuddled up to max who held her under his arm. "I wish I could do this with you, you know you meet my parents" Charlie sighed. "Tell me about them, tell me what type of people they're like. I'm sure I'd love them" max pulled Charlie in close. "Well my mom was fun, caring, she had a good heart but she could be over protective at times. She would always joke that me and Stoffel would end up in love but we were both disgusted by the idea" Charlie laughed think back " My dad, he was my best friend, the amount of inside jokes we had. You would love my dad, proper petrol head. He as the typical 'do what you want and learn from your mistakes' type of dad. However me and dad would argue like cat and dog, we were the most argumentative people ever and we both would never think we're wrong." Charlie smiled remembering her parents. "Well I think they sound wonderful and I wish I could thank them for bringing you into the world." Max smiled pulling Charlie in close. Charlie blushed as she has never seen max to be so cute and mushy.

"I've been meaning to ask you something and my mom proper dropped me in it tonight. Would you, Stoffel and Anna want to come along with us all to Ibiza." Max offered, Charlie who was lying on Max's chest now sat up in excitement. "Are you sure?" Charlie was over the moon. "Yeah more the merrier. I wanted you to come when we booked it and that's why I made Vic book the biggest villa." Max smiled seeing how excited Charlie was. "I'll have to speak to Stoff to see what him and Anna are doing but yes I would love to come." Charlie sent a quick text to make sure Stoffel was free of the first week in the summer break.

Charlie fell asleep with her head on top of Max's chest snuggled into him.
