Melbourne- Sunday

Charlie generally enjoyed her self this weekend, Max got P6 which he had mixed emotions about he wanted to be in a winning car but it was only the first race and he took P6. Charlie was ecstatic for Stoffel finishing P9 as he brung some points in the team. Overall it was a great weekend, Charlie had grown a soft spot for Sebastian so seeing him win and the passion the Ferrari team had was amazing. It was Sunday night and Charlie was meeting Jos and she didn't have time during the weekend. Charlie was ready and sat in Max's room as she would be going for a meal with Red Bull with Max and Anna and Stoffel were with McLaren. "I'm so nervous Max" Charlie said shaking, "you'll be fine he'll love you, just don't be weird" max laughed reassuring her. "Not helping" Charlie said.

When they got to the meal Charlie sat next to Max and opposite Jos. Jos stood up and came to greet Max and Charlie, "You didn't tell me you had a lady Max?" Jos said winding Max up, "eh I'm not his girlfriend" Charlie laughed awkwardly "I'm Charlie a friend of Max, we actually live with each other with two other people" Charlie continued as they sat down. Max and Jos were talking in Dutch and Charlie couldn't help but think they were talking about her. "Dad, Charlie's dad was a huge fan of yours actually" Max switches to English. "Really?" Jos seems surprised. "Yeah! You were his idol. " Charlie started to feel more comfortable as the conversation went on. "Normally i would get 'you're too risk taking' or 'you crash too much'" Jos said thinking back to when he used to get so much hate. "That's why my dad loved you, not the crashing part obviously but the fact you were willing to take risks and race on the edge. And I can see Max like that, in a good way" Charlie smirked. "Hmmm I'll have to meet your father then" Jos says, Charlie didn't know what to say but when she felt Max's hand on her knee she felt okay. "He sadly passed away along with my mother" Charlie says looking down. "Oh I'm sorry" Jos send a friendly smile. "Yeah it's okay I've got my second family- Stoffel" Charlie smiles. The rest of the evening went great she got along lovely with Jos and she was happy in Max's company.

When Charlie got back to the hotel Max invited her in his room for a bit, "I'm sorry but what were you and your dad talking about in Dutch" Charlie asked curiously. Max rolls his eyes at what his dad said "he said 'why have you not taken this beautiful lady out on a date yet'" Max mimics his dad. Charlie gets butterflies as she's never actually been on a real date before, Michael never used to take her out and if he did it was to meet his friends up the pub. There was this awkward silence in the room, Max wanted to ask Charlie out on a date but he didn't know how she felt. "When we get back to Monaco would you like to go on a date with me?" Max asks cringing and how cringe he is. "I would love to" Charlie says smiling, ".......I've never actually been on a date before" Charlie says looking down. "Well I'm honoured to take you on your first date." Max said smiling back.

It was a long plane journey home so Charlie decided to write her article up about Melbourne and her experience getting to know the sport. When they landed and unpacked Stoffel and Charlie went out for lunch because Charlie wanted to tell Stoffel everything. "So I've got my first date" Charlie said smiling, "I'm guessing it's Max" Stoffel rolls his eyes.
"Yeah, why are you happy for me?"
"It's not that I'm not happy for you, it's just he's my friend you're my best friend and if things go wrong I don't want to be in the middle like we all live together. Look what happened last time we argued."
"Okay it's only a date who knows where it's going to lead and don't worry everything will be fine" Charlie said putting her hand over Stoffel's. "Go with the flow" both Charlie and Stoffel start to laugh as ever since they've been friends this was their little motto. "Okayyy, have a great time be good" Stoffel said smirking, he had to leave as he had a training session with Craig so Charlie finished her lunch alone. She had a date with Max tonight she had nothing to wear.

Charlie knew exactly what shops to go to and as soon and she saw this jumpsuit with an open back, low cut neck that was this brown colour. She had to buy it. Charlie was worried she looked swamped in it due to her height and the long legs the jumpsuit had but she will wear heels so she'll be fine. When Anna and Charlie got home Anna helped Charlie get ready. They felt like school girls again giggling. Anna did Charlie's hair in loose curls. Once Anna was finished doing her hair Charlie did her making keeping it simple but effective.

Max was waiting for Charlie in the kitchen and he was nervous, he didn't know how to act but when Charlie walked in he was speechless. "You look amazing" Max stared at Charlie making her blush, "thank you, you look nice" Charlie cringed at how she called Max nice, 'nice! It's that the best you've got, he looks fricking sexy AF!' Charlie thought to herself. Max drove her to the restaurant, Max wasn't drinking as he was driving but Charlie was too nervous she needed at least one glass of wine. When they arrived it was a really fancy, Charlie felt very out of place as she's not used to fancy things.

When they sat down at the table they orders some drinks, Charlie ordered a glass of white wine whereas Max stuck to water. It was awkward at the start but Max sparked conversation "thank you for agreeing to come out with me"
"It's okay, I'm glad you asked me" Charlie could not stop blushing, no one has had this effect on her. They started speaking about the next race in Bahrain and Charlie didn't think she could make it and she has work to catch up on. Max  was gutted Charlie couldn't come but he knows she has her own job. Overall the date went amazing the food was gorgeous and Charlie really enjoyed herself. She had to admit to herself she was starting to like him. Max and Charlie didn't realise how late it was and that the restaurant was actually closing, they got lost in time and ended up chatting away for hours.

When they got home the house was in darkness suggesting Stoffel and Anna were asleep. "Shhh we have to be quiet" Charlie shush as she didn't want to wake them up while turning the kitchen light on. Charlie went to walk towards her room but Max pulled her back, they were very close and max looked down on her "I had a great night tonight and I would love to do it again" Charlie looked down as she was blushing. Max placed his fingers under her chin to lift her head up "I mean it" he whispered. " I had a great night too, thank you for taking me out and I want to do it again as well" Charlie smiled. Max leaned in closer and gently placed a single kiss on her lips. When he pulled away their faces remained close so Charlie pulled him back kissing him gently but for longer.

Charlie pulled away smiling "night verstappen" she walked away to her too smiling. Max just stood there speechless how amazing that kiss was.
