okay.

"Albus," Scorpius whispered after the movie was finished, "Can we go upstairs?"

Albus replied, "Yeah, why?" 

"I just need to talk to you."

Scorpius and Albus got off of the maroon sofa and walked up the stairs. Albus shut the door behind them.

Scorpius stood in the middle of the room, his hands nervously rubbing his forearms. 

"Scorpius--?"

"Albus, I-- We need to talk about what happened the other day. I mean, you kissed me, and we didn't talk about it. I just need to..." Scorpius took a shaky breath and buried his face in his hands.

Albus stood near the door, looking at Scorpius hiding behind his pale hands. He didn't move. He didn't remember how to.

"I don't... Scorpius, I kissed you because I... because I had to. Because you're you, and I can't stand not kissing you. It takes every part of me to not grab your hand in the hallway, to not kiss you under the mistletoe, to not exclaim how much I've wanted to do these things since... Look, it doesn't matter, I... I should just..." Albus said breathlessly. His voice cracked.

Scorpius's throat closed tight. He looked at Albus and let the tears fall silently. 

"Okay." he said.

Albus closed his eyes and let in one shaky breath before completely falling apart. His hands flew to his face as he fell to the floor, sobbing and crying and an utter mess. Scorpius walked over and crouched down with him, silently crying with him. He put an arm around Albus and pulled him close. 

Harry creaked the door open and saw the boys huddled together, Scorpius cradling a sobbing Albus. Harry knew it had to do with something they were crying about a few nights ago. 

"Boys, are you okay?" he asked quietly.

"Yes, I think we're going to be just fine." Scorpius said to him, still cradling Albus.

Harry smiled a little before he said, "Okay." and shut the door.
