Premise: Signe is trying to convince Sean that she's real, but Sean is having none of it.
Disclaimer: I wrote this before Jack and Wiishu broke up and she is in this oneshot, so feel free to skip it if it makes you uncomfortable.

The room was silent. To anyone else. But to Sean, he was bombarded with harmful thoughts that made him wonder if he was actually going crazy. He didn't want to listen to it anymore, but no matter what he did, the voice wouldn't go away.

It sounded like him. The demon always sounded like him, but maybe it was a disguise. To make Sean think he was losing his mind by responding to his own voice—the voice in his head. He was torn on which one was the right answer; maybe he should ask.

He started to speak, but his voice came out weak. He had been crying. Either because his girlfriend disappeared without a trace, or because he was scared that he could no longer trust his own mind. It could have been both.

He cleared his throat, and started again, "Are you real?" The voices reduced to mere whispers, but in the jumbled mess of words, he couldn't make out an answer. Stop trying. They said. It's useless. Sean tried shaking off the words, but it felt as if they were spiders crawling up his spine and he couldn't get them off. He shivered as he felt a real crawling sensation on his back. It's not real. He tried telling himself, but it was drowned out by the voices.

Stop it. This isn't happening. You're going crazy. Quit denying it.

"Jack. Jack, look at me. It's me. It's Signe." When Sean finally registered that someone was talking to him, the voices and spiders immediately vanished. He saw Signe.

"Don't worry, I'm here now." Her voice was soft and calming, but most importantly, it was real. He jumped up and pulled her into a tight hug.

"I'm so glad you're here." After a while, he reluctantly let her go, not wanting her to leave again. "Where were you?"

She chuckled. "I've only been out for a little while. You've never been this excited to see me. Did something happen?"

Sean smile dropped. "Uh..." he wondered if he should tell her, but he didn't want her to think he was going crazy. Since the voices have stopped now, maybe there was no need to tell her.  "No. It's been the same as always." He laughed nervously.

"Well, I'm glad you're okay." She put her hand on his shoulder. "It wasn't fun seeing you all helpless like that."

He couldn't help but shiver when she said that, but he didn't know why. "What do you mean?"

Her warm smile disappeared and she froze for a second, then pulled her hand away from Sean. "Are you sure you're okay?"

Sean didn't know how to respond. She kept reflecting any questions Sean had. What if she already knew? What if she was also being affected like he was?

"You were talking to yourself before I got here. Can you explain that?"

"No, I wasn't." He said, but he knew Signe wouldn't believe him. Why was he even trying to lie to her?

Stop trying. The voice came back, but it didn't sound like Jack this time. It sounded like Signe. You're crazy.

"N- no, no I'm not." He responded out loud.

"Jack, you're-"

"I'm not crazy. Stop saying that. I'm not," he said, almost reassuring himself while saying it. "Why do you keep calling me Jack?"

"Why? Because that's your name. Does it even matter? You're talking to yourself and you're seeing things that aren't there. You probably need professional help or something." She sounded worried, but Sean began to think it was an act. He knew that she never called him Jack, and he was unsure what was even real anymore.
