A/N: Double update yay! This was written for Whumptober on tumblr and I realized I never posted it here, so here it is I guess.
Marvin heaved, practically coughing up his own lungs. His legs were about give out; there was no way he could keep running. He fell against the wall, then hit the floor, sleep desperately trying to claw its way into his mind. "No," he begged, his voice hoarse from exhaustion.
Static crackled behind him. When he looked back, he realized red thread was wrapped thickly around his ankles. The feeling of the static ran up his legs and through his body, causing him to shudder as goosebumps formed.
The end of the thread trailed into the darkness of the hallway and something tugged on it from the other side. Only a moment later, it tugged again, harder, dragging him by his legs toward the one he was running away from. Marvin kicked his legs and clawed at the floor, his nails scraping the wood, but nothing could stop him from ending up at Anti's feet.
"Got you." He sang in a tone more fitting for a child playing tag.
Marvin did not have the breath to protest. He got onto his hands but Anti pulled the strings, knocking him down again. He wailed, throat parched and bare. Hands not his own searched his pockets and came out with nothing. Of course he had nothing; that was the reason he ran.
A knife glitched into Anti's empty hand, his other hand holding the strings that bound Marvin. Another sob escaped from the magician's throat. "No, please no..." He stretched his arm above his head, reaching into the darkness of the hall for nothing, for anything at all. More red thread glitched around his wrists and cool steel touched his throat, making him flinch. "S- stop, please... don't."
