Madison Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Chapter 17: Castle on the Hill: Part Three
Voldemort's voice rang through the halls of Hogwarts as Harry and I made our way back into the courtyard from the boat deck.
"You've fought valiantly... but in vain. I do not wish this. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a terrible waste. I therefore command my forces to retreat... In their absence, dispose your dead with dignity. Harry and Madison Potter, I know speak directly to you. On this night, you both have allowed your friends to die for you, rather than face me yourselves... there is no greater dishonor. Join me in the Forbidden Forrest and confront your fate. If you both do not do this, I will kill every last man, woman and child who tries to conceal you from me..."
We looked at one another and a silent understanding passed between us. We sprinted to the Great Hall and shoved open the doors. In there we saw a good amount of dead bodies. Harry took my bloody and grimy hand in his own equally as disgusting hand and we began to walk through the hall, looking for people we knew.
On my right, Professor Treawleny and Pavarti wrapped up a figure that I recognized as one of the girls that I have sort of been friends with (we were all kind of forced to become friends over the past seven years since we shared a dorm): Lavender Brown.
On the left, a bloody and battered up Colin Creevey was lying on the floor lifeless, his brother Dennis sitting down next to him, crying his eyes out. A tear trickled down my cheek. Colin, while annoying in his first year, did not deserve this fate. Neither did Lavender.
We walked farther up, and I came to a halt when I saw two bodies on the ground, their hands reaching out to one another, still and not quite touching.
It was Remus and Tonks.
Tears rolled out of my eyes and I looked over at my brother. He was crying as well.
"They're gone," I said. Harry looked at me, his eyes glossy.
"Come on," I sniffed, wiping my eyes with my free hand. I took one last look at Remus and Tonks before we walked off.
We saw the Weasley's crowding around somebody on a cot. I was craning my neck to see who it was. I couldn't see who it was because all I could see was Ginny, Ron, Fred, Percy, Bill and Charlie....
"No. No, no, no," I trembled. My eyes went blurry, and I pulled Harry over to where the group of redheads were.
George lay on the cot, lifeless, his eyes closed, his face all bloody and grimy. I slumped down to my knees next to him and found myself cupping his face with my hands. Tears were coming out of my eyes uncontrollably and I kept on mumbling his name.
"Please don't be gone... please... please..." I cried out, barely registering the fact that Mrs. Weasley was putting her hands on my shoulders.
"Madison, honey... he's just stunned."
I looked at her, my eyes wide with anger, but also with relief.
I then started to slap George repeatedly on the chest, calling his name out in anger. His brown eyes fluttered open and he proceeded to look at me with love.
"Hey, love," he smiled.
"DON'T YOU DARE EVER DO THAT AGAIN, GEORGE FABIAN WEASLEY!" I screamed.
"Calm down! I won't!" George said, shielding his face from any more punches I could possibly give him.
"I'm just glad you're alright," I said, giving him a lingering peck on the lips before getting up and turning to face my brother.
