I can't tell you how nervous this question makes me but also how happy 😂
Cause like :
#1: yeah bih I speak Arabic I'm cool and different and you're uncultured bye
#2: but also please don't ask me to speak cause I'll get nervous & forget everything I've ever known as if I've never spoke the language before. No like the struggle is actually real😂 like when you have to explain to people yeah you're fluent but like you still struggle and like you can understand everything but sometimes when you speak it doesn't come out right??? LIKE WHY.
Speaking to family is the worst. Cause like you wanna show off your Arabic skills and like you practice in your head and your like "bitch I'm so good at Arabic like bet" and then you talk to them and they find the most smallest mistake and are all judgy. Like okay sorry never again. But see talking to friends is different cause either way they aren't gunna know. So you can be like "kol Khara." And they'll be like "that was so beautiful what does it mean??" And you're like "it means your eyes are beautiful" ya know what I mean?
So basically what I'm tryna say is speaking Arabic is a win, lose situation. A win because uncultured people think you're cool af because Arabic is so "exotic" as they say. And a lose because you think you're fly af and speak it to your family and they judge you :')
Or it's also bad cause everyone thinks your a terrorist but you come in peace.
So honestly just tell people you're like Puerto Rican or Italian and move on with life:) Too much??
