The Long Game

When you speak,
They don't listen.
When you talk,
They don't hear.
When you move forward,
They move back.

Even when you reach out,
Men, they are just that bad.
But that still does not stop you.

When you have a plan,
There is nothing that can stop it.
Then you have a goal,
You make sure it is reached.
No matter the matter,
All destinies must be complete.

So, why don't you just get someone else?
Since they are clearly not up to the test.
But you want it to be them.

So, you continue to try,
Hoping that one day they will break free of their 'selfish' 'self-serving' 'I can do it by myself' attitude.
Hoping that one day they will come back to you.
Waiting patiently for you have tried.

You see them fall not able to raise again,
So you turn your face away.
Hoping that if you do not look it will not hurt as much.
Hoping that if you leave it alone maybe you will find some closure.
But that's not the case.

Instead, you continue to wait knowing that one day they will return home.
And that day will be glorious.
Finally, they will hear and reach out,
They see you and be glad.
Knowing you made them a promise.
'Come to me all of you who work and have heavy loads. I will give you rest'
Matthew 11:28.

Through good time and bad, I will be your God.
I value my word more than my name,
Therefore I will do that which you desire so my name will not be polluted.
As long as you ask in the name of Jesus every door shall be open and every prayer answered.
For, I will not share my glory with anyone.
I feed the birds of the air and the beast of the wild,
So why would I neglect you my special possession?
The one I hold most dear to my heart.

Hold on to my words and keep them, dear, to your heart.
My love for you is never-ending,
Even if you chose to continue in your ways.
I will remain true to my word and continue to wait.
Knowing that one day you will return home.
But for now, I will continue to wait,
On that true and glorious day.
I only hope it will not be too late.
