Chapter 5 - What happened next

Vivesh got perplexed because the old lady resembled Tara. Vivesh thought it might be Tara's mum. He didn't know how to react. He didn't want to make his first impression as a worst one if she happens to be Tara's mum. He became nervous. He tried to conceal his tense and tried to smile. But the old lady grinned. Before opening up a conversation she slapped Vivesh.

"What's happening here? Why did you pour water on him? What did he do? Did he teased you?" she turned to Tara and barraged with questions.

"Mom! When did you come? " asked Sarah in shock.

Chloe is Tara and Sarah's mother. She is wheatish in complexion, little taller than Tara and slightly stout middle-aged woman in her early 40's.

"I came to shopping with your dad and then came here to pick up both of you. But here you girls are stuck with this moron. Thank God I came to rescue you both. Don't be afraid, tell me, Sarah. What happened?" Chloe inquired Sarah.

"Mom. They are Vivesh and John. They actually came here and asked.."

Tara hurriedly interrupted Sarah before she could spill any words and said "Mom. They both are my college mates and my friends. I met them here coincidentally."

"That's fine then why did you pour water on your friend. Are you trying to cover something? Don't panic and tell the truth." pressed Chloe.

"No mom! I'm not trying to hide anything. We just had a betting game. I just lost to him and in anger, I poured the water over him. That's all happened. You just created a haphazard here." chided Tara. Sarah widened her eyes and looked at Tara. She bewildered hearing Tara's words. "Do you know these guys before. Why didn't you tell me", Sarah asked Tara in her eye expressions. Tara pleaded her not to tell the truth through her actions.

Chloe turned to Vivesh and said "I'm really sorry dear. You could've stopped before I slapped you and might have said Tara is your friend. I'm not feeling good. I misinterpreted and behaved so rude to you."

Vivesh felt relieved and sighed. He kept his cool and replied, "It's ok aunt. I didn't feel to stop you because it might have been so disrespectful."

"How sweet this guy is. Tara, Why are you playing like a kid with him. See he is fully drenched now. Ask sorry to him", ordered Chloe.

Tara respected her mother's words and asked sorry to him. Vivesh smiled back as approval and winked at her when no one noticed them.

Chloe asked Vivesh to come and get another shirt in a shop there as his shirt was totally wet. First Vivesh refused but then he agreed to join her mother for shopping after she pressed him to come.

Tara's dad Henry introduced himself to Vivesh and John. Then they all went shopping. After shopping a shirt for Vivesh they were about to part, that's when Vivesh asked Chloe, "Shall I take Sarah and Tara to a coffee shop with my friend. We'll just spend an hour and drop them back to home safely. Is it ok with you and uncle."

Chloe and Henry agreed and bid bye to their daughters and left the City Mall. Vivesh felt like he had accomplished something phenomenal in his life.

Four of them went to Starbucks coffee shop inside the mall. "See Vivesh because I saved you from my mum doesn't mean that you can take the advantage of calling me out. I and my sis just came for a courtesy to the coffee shop and you don't build castles in your mind. Got it?" Tara busted out breathlessly.

Sarah zipped her mouth till now only because her parents were there. Now she was curious to know what's happening. So she halted the conversation and asked Tara, "I'm so confused. Do you know Vivesh and John before?"

Tara recited everything to Sarah. Sarah got astonished and asked Tara, "So he proposed yesterday and did you started loving him today? That was too quick to fall in love before even knowing each other."

"I already said him I don't believe in love at first sight. Still today he's following me. It's not my fault I tried to avoid him today. It was you and your stubborn nature which made us come till here. So the fault is yours. Why did you agree to the bet?", Tara blamed Sarah.

" You could've said you know him and the truth at the beginning itself. But you didn't. You wanted to spend time but you're showing off as though you don't want to. Now you try to blame me and play smart sissy. If you don't like him why did you save him by saying you know him? Reply to this." Sarah pulled the legs of Tara.

Vivesh was enjoying their conversation as he was happy to hear the fact that Tara also liked him.

"You're saying something nonsense. I just saved him because he seemed like a good guy and so I just don't wanna make any scene or pull him into any problem. Nothing more than that. How can I love or like him without knowing anything about him?" Tara mumbled.

"That's why I asked your sister to come to a date. But she refused to come." interrupted Vivesh.

"See I'm not your girlfriend or lover to come on a date with you. How can I trust you and come with you?" Tara sputtered her words.

"You don't have to be my girlfriend or lover to come on a date with me. See you have met me once now and I am not going to do something bad to you. You can have trust only when you spend time with me. I'm not forcing you to love me and I never will. But you can't force me to stop loving you too. I'm just calling you for a friendly date. We can go hang out somewhere wherever you like it's your choice. Also, I'm not following you. I don't know anything about you and your family except for your names. I'm not being creepy or something like that. Just accidentally met you today." Vivesh tried to convince Tara.

"He has a point. I know you have a desire to know about him even though you haven't fallen for him. You can just try hanging out with him. He seems to be genuine and helpless. At least you can befriend him." Sarah advocated for Vivesh.

"He is my friend since childhood. He had never gone at the back of any girl except for you. You don't have to worry he is really a sweet person and I'm not just boasting because he is my friend. He is witty but really a very good person. You can trust him for sure and I can assure you. Please accept to hang out with him", John supported Vivesh.

"Guys can you please stop. You all are trying to convince me. I can't accept to spend time alone with him like a friendly date or whatever. I just need time to think. I'm literally confused", Tara answered.

"Ok fine. I don't want to force you, Tara. If you change your mind and if you want to talk with me, you can call me", Vivesh replied.

"That sounds good to me. If she changes her mind I can inform you. Give me your phone number." asked Sarah.

Vivesh gave his phone number and Sarah saved it in her mobile. Then Vivesh asked if he can accompany them to their home and drop them. Sarah said that they'll go home by themselves and she will leave a message to him once they reached home safely.

Vivesh saw Tara who was going with her sister. He expected her to turn back and see him. But to his disappointment, she didn't turn back and they left the Starbucks. Vivesh sat there frozen without moving his eyes.

"Daddy, Daddy I want ice cream", Glory was shrugging Vivesh's shoulder. Vivesh shook his head and came out of his memories. "We can go and have after Daddy finishes his work, ok", sweetly said Vivesh to his daughter Glory and sipped his Starbucks coffee.
