Chapter 18 - Amuse or Endanger

Vivesh felt bad about revealing his suicide attempt to Tara. He knew what Tara might have been thinking in her mind now. She might've been thinking that he could've let her mom speak with her about his suicide attempt. Hearing that she could've changed her mind and would have patched up with him again. She might not have fallen into the pit.

He also knew that Tara is going to undergo an emotional breakdown since her faded memory would connect the dots, then it will rewind and replay her past in her faint inactive mind subconsciously. Vivesh feared for this incident only. He feared that she should not recollect this portion of her past in her life but now she'll surely be thinking of it.

He knew what happened in Tara's life during their love breakup period. He came to know it from her diary. But Tara is not aware that he knows it.

She believes that she has concealed the truths. Even when cancer hit her she had blamed herself that its a Karma's play in her life for her wrongdoing. If he reveals that he is aware of everything surely she'll be broken down totally and she will be no more. So Vivesh thought he would allow her to think rather than revealing the truth and pacifying her.

He made Tara lie down in her bed and left the room. He went into the living room with her diary and commenced reading the past again. He dived deep into thoughts where Tara's mind is also dwelling.

It was after 6 months after their breakup only Vivesh attempted for suicide. It was the same time Tara fell into that dirty ditch.

Tara could neither forget Vivesh nor forgive him. She totally hated his behavior but she couldn't totally hate him since she couldn't kill her love towards him. She was in a shaky mindset. She longed for a relief. But she didn't get that relief from any of her friends or family. She felt that no one understood her feelings.

When Tara was in a complete emotional breakdown her friends suggested her to go on a couple of dates in order to come over the thoughts of Vivesh. With an unstable mindset which she had, she couldn't think of a better idea than that.

Without a second thought, she signed up in Tinder. She got many flirty messages and gibberish adult stuff. She thought that she will not find a guy to date in Tinder because all of the guys seemed to be sexual predators.

She thought to delete her account that's when she saw a request from a profile. His name was Sam. His profile seemed to be pretty decent.

Out of curiosity and loneliness, she accepted his request and thought to give it a try since it's not a big deal as they are just chatting online. At once she accepted Sam's request she got a ping from him.

"Hi, Tara. How you doin?"

"Fine. Thanks. How's you?"

"I'm good. Where do you live?"

"Chicago"

"You mean downtown or suburbs?"

"Not either. I live by the lake."

"That means Edgewater neighborhood. Am I right?"

"Yes, kind of. Where are you from?"

"I'm from Springfield."

"Oh really. My aunt lives there. I like the sandwiches in D'Arcy's"

"Oh wow. The same pub I used to go with my friends for a pint of beer and sandwiches. We have same tastes I guess"

"I guess it's just a coincidence. Stop exaggerating it."

"Cool. Let's take that as a coincidence as you say, mademoiselle "

"Haha!"

Smiles and smileys were exchanged in their first chat along with their mobile number.

The next day Sam called to her mobile.

"Hi, Tara."

"Hello, Sam! What's the background music which I'm hearing?"

"Oh oops! I'm sorry I forgot to switch off my music system. Wait I'll turn it off."

She heard the music and song in the background from his side.

She'll make you take your
Clothes off and go dancing in the rain
She'll make you live her crazy life
Until you go insane…

"Hey, hey wait don't turn it off. I guess it's Ricky Martin's "Living la vida loca song" right."

"Ya"
She started singing,

"Upside inside out
She's livin' la vida loca
She'll push and pull you down
Livin' la vida loca…"

He also joined her and sang,

"Her lips are devil red
And her skin's the color of mocha
She will wear you out
Livin' la vida loca
She's livin la vida loca.."

They both chorused the song till it ended. After the song ended they both giggled and laughed.

"So you love Ricky Martin's song eh?"

"Ya sam, he is my favy"

"Come on that's why I said yesterday we have similar tastes but you didn't agree with me."

"I partially agree. Maybe we might have a few identical tastes."

"At least you agree partially. I'm happy to hear it. I'm coming to Edgewater beach this weekend. Can we catch up?"

She was silent for a moment.

"Hey, Tara. What happened why you went on mute? If you are not interested in meeting no issues.

"No. Not like that Sam."

"Then…"

"I just wanted to know that..err..I.."

"Don't beat around the bush just spit it out straight. I don't mind. Talk freely, dear."

"Are you asking me out for a date?"

"Yep. Kind of date. You can take it as a friendly date for time being."

"What's that 'time being' means?"

"It means in the future in case if we started liking each other we'll start dating officially else we will hang out as good friends."

"That sounds like a plan. I can't say no to it."

"Which means can I count you in for the weekend party?"

"Yep. I'm in sam."

"Cool. Then let's catch up this weekend. Bye."

"Ok bye."

They hung up the call. Tara felt something enjoyable inside. She felt he is her kind of guy.

Even with Vivesh, she didn't have peak fun because their tastes differed drastically. She likes rock but he likes blues.
She likes American cuisine and he likes Italian. Like this, in every single thing, they were opposite poles.

They say opposites attract but she felt that its absurd in love. She felt similarities in character do attract a lot more than opposites since she got attracted to Sam so soon without any kind of confusion or second thought.

She had a weird instinct that Sam will discover the undiscovered yet most enjoyable side of her. But she never knew it will be amusing or it will endanger her. Life is unpredictable.
