Together Forever- SkyeWard

Ch. 1

Author Note: This is set after Ward betrays SHIELD but he was not captured. I hope you like it!

"Skye!" Someone said as they banged on my bedroom door. It was May. "Wake up we have a lead on Ward!" I rolled over on my side to look at the clock sitting next to my bed. It was 8:00 in the morning. I moaned, "Fine!" I said exhausted. I dragged myself out of bed and into my bathroom. I had no interest in seeing Ward again but at the same time I wanted so badly to see him. He betrayed me, the team, SHIELD. Yet after all of that my feelings for him didn't fade. I guess love just doesn't go away that fast. I brushed my teeth and hair. I pulled on my regular clothes I wear for missions, ( all black ), then I looked at the time, quarter after 8, I walked out my room and into Coulson's office for debriefing before the mission. May and Coulson were already there and FitzSimmons walked in right behind me.

"Ok" Coulson said once everyone was in his office. "We have a new lead on Ward." Everyone's face suddenly had a look of disgust on it. I tried to mimic their faces but I had a hard time. As much as I tried to hate Ward I just couldn't. I still loved him wether I wanted to or not. "He is hiding out in Seattle." Coulson continued. "Surveillance caught him outside a restaurant on main Street called "Katie's Dinner." We have gathered information that Ward is a regular there. So we are going to do a steak-out and wait for him there."

"Wheels up in 5." May says before exiting Coulson's office. Fitz-Simmons followed behind her. I was about to leave too but Coulson stopped me.

"Skye." He said. "Wait a minute."

"What's up?" I ask.

"Close the door." He says without looking up from his desk.

I was a little worried now. "Skye." He starts. "I know that you and Ward have a...um...past...but I just want to make sure you are ready to go and face him. I can't have your emotions get in the way and compromise this whole mission."

"I understand sir." I said "and I am ready for this mission.

"Ok." Coulson said. "You may go."

I nod and walk out of his office. Coulson was right I could not let my emotions get the best of me.
