Ch. 2

I walked on to the Quinn jet. May was already in the pilot's set and FitzSimmons were sitting next to each other talking. I sat down across from them and started going through my bag, making sure I had everything I needed.

Coulson walked in a couple of minutes later. "Ok May." He said. "We are ready to go."

May started up the Quinn jet and we left. The flight to Seattle was going to take a little bit so I decided to close my eyes and try to take a nap. It was useless though. My thoughts just wandered to Ward. That's what usually happens when I have some down time. I always think about him. "I wonder if he thinks about me. I wonder if he still loves me or if he was lying just like he lied about being SHIELD." I thought. "I just don't understand how he could do something like that. Betray the whole team. He was like family. And I hate that I still love him. It's torture. I have to get over him, one way or another."

"Ok everyone." Coulson said. I slowly opened my eyes. "We are almost there, so make sure you are ready. Does everyone remember their assignments?"

"Yes." We all said in unison. "Jemma will stay in the van running comps." Coulson said, even though we told him we remembered. "Fitz and Skye will go in and pose as a couple having breakfast." After Coulson said that Fitz and Simmons both looked at each other. It was so obvious they liked each other, I'm surprised that they aren't married by now. "May will be sitting outside the diner and I will be across the street." As soon as Coulson finished May landed the jet. "Ok" Coulson said "grab you stuff and head to the van."

We all walked of the Quinn jet to find a van waiting for us. SHIELD must have left it for us. We all climbed inside. Coulson was driving and May was sitting in the passenger seat. Fitz, Jemma, and I all climbed in the back. Fitz started helping Jemma unload their equipment. They started talking but I didn't take part in the conversation.

Jemma looked up from her equipment and came over to me. "What's wrong?" She asked while sitting down next to me.

"Nothing." I said quickly hoping she would get the hint and leave me alone.

"Your lying." She said. She looked concerned.

"It's just I'm afraid to face Ward." I said lowering my voice to make sure May and Coulson couldn't hear me.

"Hey" Jemma said, placing her hand on my leg. "You might not even see him here today. And if you do you are a strong agent, I know you'll do the right thing."

"Thanks Jemma." I said. Then she went to go help Fitz. Jemma was right, When I see Ward I will make the right decision.

Fitz and I sat in a booth in the far back corner. I was facing the door. "Skye?" I head through my comp. It was Coulson. "Can you here me?"

"Loud and clear." I said looking at the menu.

"We will let you know when Ward is on his way in."

It took a while. There was no sign of Ward. Fitz and I had eaten a huge breakfast and the waitress had just brought the check.

"Fitz, Skye." Coulson said through the comps. "Come back to the van after you pay the check and we will change positions so you guys aren't in their to long."

"Ok." I said. "But first I have to go the the restroom."

I got up from the booth and went to the bathroom. I knocked on the door making sure no one was in there because it was one of those one person at a time bathroom. No one answered so I walked in. I shut the door and turned around but then I saw a person already in there. "Sorry." I said frantically." I didn't know someone was..." But I was cut off by someone grabbing me and putting a hand over my mouth. They ripped out the comp in my ear and stomped on it. I didn't get a chance to say anything before I was turned . And who I saw was nothing close to what I expected.

It was Ward.
