Ch. 17

Ward was trying to get out of bed with out waking me up. But he was failing miserably. "What are you doing?" I asked sleepily.

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you." He said as he bent down to kiss my forehead.

"You know for being an agent of one of the biggest organizations in the world, you are terrible at being quiet."

He smiled. "I'm hungry so I'm going to go eat something."

I was thinking about going with him but I was just to tired. "Ok." I said then I fell back asleep.

I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the alarm clock on Ward's side of the bed. It was 9:00am. I moaned. I should probably get up. I got out of bed and got ready for the day. I strolled down the hall towards the kitchen. I was really hungry. I got some oatmeal and sat down to eat.

"Good morning Skye!" Jemma said cheerfully as she walked into the kitchen.

"Morning!" I said smiling.

"So Skye I was wondering if you wanted to do something today?" She said happily.

"Yah." I said. "It feels like forever since we have just hung out together. What do you have in mind?" I asked then put a spoonful of oatmeal in my mouth.

"Well I talked to Coulson and he said we could both have the day off. So I thought we could go to town and go shopping for some baby clothes." She said excitedly.

"Yes!" I said. "I would love be to. I've been so caught up in worrying about everything else that I didn't realize that I would need clothes for them."

"Then it's settled. We can leave whenever you want." She said.

"Ok. Let's leave in 20. I just have to let Ward know I'm going out. "

"Ok." She said smiling. Then walked away. I finished my oatmeal then put the bowl in the dishwasher. Then I went looking for Ward.

I found him talking to Fitz in the lab. "Hey boys!" I said walking up.

"Hey Skye." Fitz said.

Ward kissed me. "What's up?" He asked.

"I just wanted to let you know that Jemma and I are going out for a few hours." I said.

"Ok. Be careful." Ward said.

I hugged him. "Bye guys."

"Bye." They said in unison.

I left and went to mine and Ward's room. I grabbed my purse and went to meet Jemma. I walked up to her. "Hey again." I said.

"Hey." Jemma said. "I've got a car ready for us. Don't worry it doesn't have a huge SHIELD logo on it." I laughed. "Come on." She said. "I'll drive."

When Jemma and I got to town we parked the car in one of those big parking structures. Then we walked down the street. We went to so many stores. Mostly the day consisted of Jemma and I holding up different outfits to each other and trying to guess what the gender of the babies will be. I thought that it would be two boys and Jemma thought it would be a boy and a girl.

Throughout the day I noticed something odd. Jemma kept looking at her watch. I wasn't sure why but I didn't question it. Jemma looked at it again.
"Skye." She says holding her stomach. "I don't feel so good. I'm sorry I don't mean to cut the day short but..."

I cut her off. "It's fine." I told her. "Come on." I lead her out the store and to the car. I put her in the passenger seat then went to the driver seat. The drive back wasn't too long. But it was very quiet.

Once we got back Jemma and I grabbed the bags we had from today. We didn't have two many. We weren't gone too long. It was only 3:00pm when we got back. So Jemma and I took the bags and walked into the base. "That's weird." I said looking around.

"What?" Jemma asked.

"Ward isn't anywhere to be seen. I was sure he would be waiting for me." I said confused.

"Let's go look for him." Jemma said. We set the bags down and went looking for Ward. But it was so weird. We couldn't find anyone. We walked around for a minute. "Let's go try the kitchen/living room." Jemma suggested.

"Ok." I said. Ward has to be here. We've looked almost every where else.
"That's weird." I said looking around. "The lights off. It's never off."

"I'll turn on the light." Jemma says. She walked over and turns on the light. I look around.

"Oh My Gosh......."
