Ch. 13

{Time Skip}

"Please!" I begged Coulson. "Just one mission. It doesn't even have to be a big one. Maybe I could just help take down one of the smaller Hydra bases."

"No Skye!" Coulson yelled. "You are almost 6 months pregnant!"

"Please Coulson! I'm so bored. I don't know what to do!" I yelled.

"No!" He said "and that's final."

I could see Coulson wasn't going to budge. "Fine" I sighed in defeat. I turned around and walked out of his office. I went to the kitchen to get a snack. I swear these cravings just keep getting worse. I just wanted McDonald's but Ward kept telling me I couldn't because it was bad for the baby. Then I got an idea. I slowly crept down the hallways till I got to the hangar door. I punched in few numbers and the door opened. It was loud but luckily no one heard it. I walked over to one of the cars that didn't have a huge SHIELD logo on it. I unlocked the car and just as I was about to leave someone knocked on the window. I looked over, it was Ward. Dang it! I really wanted McDonalds! I rolled down the window. "Hi Robot." I said as sweetly as I could.

"Hi Rookie." He said. "Where are you off too." He asked.

I had to think of an excuse quick. "Coulson told me to go get some supplies for the base." I lied.

"Really?" Ward asked. "Like what?"

"Food." I lied again.

Ward was smiling. "What's so funny?" I asked.

"You" he said "are a terrible lier."

"Shut up!" I yelled.

"Come on." Ward said laughing. "Let's go."

I got out of the car and walked over to him. He took my hand and led me back into the base.

Once we were back inside I looked up at him. "You know one of these days when you're gone I'm going to get McDonalds."

He rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say."

Then Trip ran around the corner. "Ward!" He yelled.

"Right here!" Ward said. Trip turned around.

"Sorry. I was looking for you. Mission debriefing in 5." Trip said then ran away.

"Lucky!" I yelled when Trip was gone.

"Hey be happy." Ward said. "The team finally excepted me and are letting me go on missions now."

I chuckled "Yah, May is really excited about that."

Ward chuckled to. "Well it's only my second mission so hopefully after a while May will get over it. I gotta go."

He kissed me and then ran off into Coulson's office. Coulson said I was welcome to join them during the debriefings if I wanted to but I decided against it because it would only make me more mad because I couldn't go. I was happy for Ward though. Coulson, Trip, and FitzSimmons have given him a second chance. He is now a level one agent of SHIELD. That was something else May was not happy about. Ever since she found out about Ward and I, we haven't really talked. I've tried but every time I do she either ignores me or walks away.

I was sitting on the bed in mine and Ward's room when he came bursting through the door. "In a rush?" I asked smiling.

"Yah sorry." Ward said as he was rushing around the room. "It's just May said wheels up in 5 and I have to grab my stuff fast because I know she won't wait for me."

"Wait May's going to?" I asked

"Yah. Why?" Ward asked. He was going to fast his words almost slurred together.

"Because that means I'll have the whole base to myself." I said.

"Oh then maybe I shouldn't go. I can't just leave you here alone." He said.

"No it's fine Ward. It's not like I will have the baby. I'm only 6 months pregnant." I said.

"Ok." He said in a rush. "Just be careful. Ok?" He asked.

"Ok. " I said. He was about to leave the room. "Aren't you forgetting something?" I asked.

"Sorry." He said. He ran over and kissed me. "I love you."

"I love you to." And with that he was gone.

Everyone had left and I had been alone for about an hour. I groaned and got out of bed and started roaming the halls. It is actually really boring without anyone here. That when I came up with an idea. MCDONALDS! Ward can't stop me now. I ran, as fast as I could being 6 months pregnant, to my room and got changed. I brushed my hair and left the room. I was passing the lab when I thought I heard something fall. I walked into the lab and grabbed an icer that was sitting on one of the tables. I walked around but there was no one there. I relaxed and started walking out of the lab. I went to the door then stopped. It was closed. I didn't close the door on the way in. I raised the gun again and turned around, there was someone there, but before I had time to react they pulled the trigger and I went down.
