Kimmon's POV

I guess I must respect Copter's wishes even if it gave me so much misery.  I knew that if I persisted on pursuing him it might only drive him farther away from me.

After the lunch, we thanked our manager and everyone stood up to leave.  I heard Tee offering Copter to give him a ride and he accepted.  All kinds of paranoid thoughts entered my mind.  Did he reject me because he was in love with Tee?  Or worse, were he and Tee a couple?  I shook away my silly thoughts.  No, they can't be, they're just close friends, I told myself.  Can they be more than just close friends?  My paranoid thoughts came back again.  What if they were starting to have feelings for each other?  Stop torturing yourself, Kimmon!

I felt someone tug at my elbow.  It was Bas.

"Don't lie to me," he said, "you're not alright."

"Do you have a ride home?"  I countered.

"No," he said, "but I don't wanna go home yet."

"I don't wanna go home yet, either,"  I said, "you wanna hang out?"

"Sure!"  he said eagerly.

"My place or yours?"  I asked.

He looked at me wide eyed and put on a fake shocked expression, and then burst out laughing.  I would have burst out laughing too except that my heart was feeling heavy with the sorrow of unrequited love.

Copter's POV

I walked with Tee to his car and then noticed that Bas was walking with P'Kim to P'Kim's car.  P'Kim must have said something funny because I heard Bas laughing out loud.

This is exactly what I mean!  P'Kim is such a big flirt!  He will flirt with anything that moves!  He didn't even ask me if I had a ride.  He didn't even say good bye to me.  He just said good bye to everyone in general and not to me in particular.

Stop it!  I told myself.  You had told him to leave you alone, and he's just respecting your wishes.  But still, he should have persisted.  That last thought nagged at me throughout the drive in Tee's car.

"You're quiet,"  P'Tee stated the obvious.

"Oh, I was just wondering whether to go straight home or to ask you to drop me off at the mall,"  I lied.

"You wanna play video games with me at my place, or would you like to watch a home movie at my place?"

"I think I'd like to watch a movie, thanks,"  I replied.

"A movie it is then" he said and shifted his gear to speed up his car to his place.

"Careful, P'Tee,"  I warned.  "This area is crawling with traffic violation officers."

"Okay, grandma," he teased, which earned him a playful punch on his upper arm.

When we got to his place he went straight to his refrigerator and brought out a couple of beers.  He handed me one and asked if I wanted some potato chips.  I declined. I was still full from lunch.

He didn't even bother to ask me what movie I wanted to watch and I didn't care.  I was already busy guzzling down my beer.

"Hey," exclaimed P'Tee, grabbing the bottle, "slow down!  You'll be three sheets to the wind in no time and then you won't be able to enjoy the movie."

I looked at the screen of his TV.  I didn't recognize the title but the starting scene was that of a woman getting ready to jump off a bridge.  Shit!  That was exactly how I was feeling!  Did P'Tee somehow guess how I was feeling right now?
