We pass by the day of our death without knowing
and we know that with every birthday we grow nearing death
yet we celebrate birthdays and grieve as the last breath dawns
We celebrate birthdays welcoming a new life, a life we know will turn into a spirit
and we grieve in funerals as we say our final goodbyes to a spirit that won't give life again
We get attached to people knowing that someday we will have to welcome farewells
and then it would be too late to get unattached
We sometimes ignore others hoping they'de leave us alone
and when they do be no more we wish we had more time to spend with them.
