The day we first met wasn't like all these cheesy love stories
We already knew each other but couldn't recognize one another
Or maybe we did, at least I think I did
and you did but chose to ignore me
"She won't see me," you thought to yourself
But I was like a hawk, not taking my eyes off of you
I saw you, very clearly and wanted your attention
so badly
You kept on ignoring me, thinking I wouldn't recognize you
my heart didn't beat for you, it was on the verge of stopping
the day came to an end and I still didn't get the chance to talk to you
So I decided that it's time
" It's now or never," I told myself
I was about to chicken out when my voice betrayed me
calling your name
Once, you didn't answer
Twice, you realized you can't ignore me and turned to face me
Awkward was not the word to describe it
Our conversation didn't last long
the tension in the air was way too hard to destroy
we reeked of nervousness as we stood there like fools looking at each other
We managed to utter a couple of words
Until it was goodbye.
