Oops, I forgot to write a chapter earlier!!! Sorry I haven't posted this sooner!!!
-----------------------------------------There was nothing to indicate why she left. There was no note, no text, no message, nothing. She was just...gone. Her shoes were gone, her handbag was gone, it was like she had never been there.
Levi was devastated. This was so unlike the petite girl, he didn't understand her sudden change in actions. If she were to leave, she would've said something, given a reason, but she just up and left.
Levi burst through his door, stepping into the chilly winds and the freshly fallen snow without anything on him, such as a jacket or even shoes. He looked around for her, but saw nothing in the evening sunlight. He huffed an agitated sigh. First, his best friend was avoiding him, now his girlfriend just left him. What had he done to drive everyone away?
Eren rushed out behind him a few moments later, having enough sense to throw on a jacket and grab one for the raven as well. He gently placed it over Levi's shoulders, making sure his arms were covered best they could be from the harsh cold. "C'mon, Levi," Eren murmured quietly. "Let's get back inside."
Levi stayed silent, turning back and heading for the opened door to his home, before stopping, gaze focused on the snow beneath his feet. He began to follow along the ground, as if tracking something, turning back and stopping half way down the driveway. "Hey, come look at this," he called out to Eren.
Eren quickly walked to his side, focusing on Levi. "What is it?"
Levi lifted one arm from underneath the jacket, pointing to the snow, no, something in the snow. Eren quickly followed his direction, before pausing.
"There were two people walking away, not just one." The raven paused. "And Petra was the only one that walked here."
Eren squatted down, getting a better look at the multiple tracks in the snow. It was true: everyone had gotten a ride here or drove themselves, only Petra had walked since she lived a few streets down. "So," Eren looked up at Levi, "it means someone came and got her."
The brunet looked back at the imprinted snow on the sidewalk. "I know that, whoever this person is, was wearing Converse. Probably All Stars, in this weather, you know, the ones that come up to your ankle."
Levi exhaled slowly, a look crossing his face, as he went into deep thought. Who did he know that wore Converse All Stars? He knew that there was someone that did, but-
"Aurou," he suddenly said, fist clenching at his sides. "That bitch called Aurou." His tone set into a dangerous growl, one that Eren had only seen few times. Despite his character, Levi rarely ever got angry; he mostly got annoyed with everyone around him, but only few times had it ever become anger, and to this extent. It didn't take a genius to figure out that Levi was pissed right now.
Abruptly, he grabbed Eren's arm and hoisted him up with unrelenting strength, pulling up the lanky brunet as if he weighed next to nothing, before dragging him inside and slamming the door behind both of them. Immediately, he had his phone in hand, dialing a number and setting the sound on speaker.
Eren looked at him curiously as they sat down at the table.
"I want you as my witness, so just listen quietly and pretend you're not here," Levi quickly explained.
After the third ring, Petra picked up. "Levi?" Her tone sounded questioning, as if she didn't know at all why Levi was calling her, but it was easily detected as forced and fake.
"Did you honestly think I didn't notice two sets of footprints in the snow?" Levi grounded out, teeth clenched in anger and frustration.
"Huh, so you actually noticed I'm gone," she remarked, innocence dropping almost immediately. "And this soon, too. Makes me want to think you actually care."
