Chapter 5: The Newest Couple

Here's that second chapter I promised!!! Also, I would like to point out that there are mentions of Levi x Petra, but that's it. This is purely an Ereri/Riren fic, but there are mentions of other pairings, like Eren x Jean in the last one. I'm not hating on any ships, I'm just writing things as they come along. Sorry for ranting, here's the new chapter!!!!

"Hey, Levi," Eren began as his game character died again, setting the controller down. The said raven turned his head toward the brunet, cocking one eyebrow in question. "I always talk about my relationships, but you've never once mentioned anyone you like." After the Jean incident a few months back, things had kinda been hectic in the two males' lives. First off, when Eren came home with a bruised face, Eren had to come out to his parents, to his chagrin, and feared for their reaction. He had texted Levi when his parents called him to have a talk, and Levi quickly texted back to call him if need be. After telling his parents, they were silent a moment, before Carla smiled one of her dazzling motherly smiles, and relief washed through Eren almost instantly, slumping in his chair as he let out the breath he was holding. She scolded him for not telling the truth in the beginning, and also for slouching in his chair, before hugging him tight and apologizing to him about how Jean treated him.

Grisha, Eren noticed after several moments, was silently studying him with a neutral expression. Eren became fearful again, Carla falling silent when she noticed the same, until a broad, teasing smile spread across his lips. "It took you long enough. Do you think I don't know how to check the search history on the computer?"

After blushing furiously and yelling out in embarrassment, Eren excused himself to his room and told Levi that everything was fine, that he had been worried for nothing.

Levi looked at Eren skeptically. "Maybe because I really don't like anyone. You may date on and off, but I really don't find dating all that interesting."

Eren huffed in disbelief. "I find that hard to believe, you have almost every girl in the school pining after you. Even several guys, too."

Levi just stared impassively at Eren.

"C'mon, there has to be someone in your squad that you like." Levi and Eren gave each others groups a name. Levi's four friends that he always hung out with was dubbed his 'squad' by Eren, and Levi called Mikasa and Armin the 'trio', because there was three of them counting Eren, and they were practically inseparable during, and sometimes after, school hours. Levi and Eren didn't necessarily ignore each other at school, they all hung out together a lot, and the two had most classes together, always sitting next to one another. Everyone knew that the two were always together, and accepted that fact. "I'm actually pretty sure that Petra really likes you."

Levi snorted a laugh. "Seriously? I thought her and Aurou were going out, considering how much they argue and the remarks they make. Hell, I know for a fact that Aurou likes her, he's said it before when she wasn't around."

Eren just looked at him incredulously. "But that has nothing to do with you. Do you like her?"

Levi was silent a moment, his focus somewhere on the opposite wall as he lost himself in his thoughts. "I mean, she's pretty, I'll give her that, and is pretty sweet..." Levi mumbled more to himself than Eren.

"Then you should ask her out. She'll say yes, I know that for a fact," Eren pointed out, trying to convince his friend.

Levi, once again, fell silent, eyes falling to his lap, chin resting on his fists. He looked as if he was contemplating the meaning of life itself, before turning his grey orbs up to turquoise ones. "You really think I should ask her out?"

"Totally!" Eren boasted, a broad smile spreading across his face. "Dating can actually be good for you. It'll give your hand a break, that's for sure."
