I'm not one hundred percent sure yesterday even happened. Actually, it didn't happen. It couldn't have.
Low class, invisible me talked to the Flawless Five, joined a club with the Flawless Five and kissed the ring leader of the Flawless Five. Yep, that definitely could NOT have happened.
Getting onto the second bus I notice the Lee high schoolers are being especially rambunctious today.
Usually there are at least one or two older people on the bus with us, but today I don't see them. The bus is completely filled with high schoolers. I take the only available seat which is in the back.
I'm not even fully awake yet so it takes me a moment to realize someone is talking to me.
"Aye princess!" A guy calls, the entire bus goes silent.
His footsteps grow closer and closer before coming to an eerie stop. Suddenly, I feel someone grab onto my hair and yank it back so forcefully I have to hold onto it as well to avoid being scalped or even decapitated.
I yell out in pain but he doesn't let go.
Seconds pass and no one on the bus does anything to stop him, not even the bus driver.
"Stephen leave her alone." A girl from behind me says, laughing.
That's what everyone on the bus is doing right now, laughing, or pretending not to see me, or hear me.
The guy, Stephen, doesn't stop instead he pulls harder and laughs. It hurts so much that I'm forced to speak.
"Please, please stop!"
"Oh so now I've got your attention." He let's go, thankfully.
I turn around to look at him, wincing as my head begins throbbing. He's not really on the super tall side, he's about average height, he is very muscular which makes him look bigger. His hair is dark and so are his eyes which are currently boring into mine. I look away as a creepy smirk spreads across his face.
"So, how did a rich girl like you end up on a lousy bus like this?"
I don't answer him at first, I debate whether or not I should. My stop is coming up soon, so if I run I could probably escape unharmed.
He advances towards me and I realize that's not an option.
"I'm not rich. I'm here on scholarship."
"Wow really? You must be like some super genius then, huh?"
The bus arrives at my stop and I get up to leave but he puts his hand out to stop me.
"Answer me." He whispers down into my ear giving me the most violent shivers I've probably ever had in my entire life.
"No I'm not." I slide under his arm and run off the bus right before Mr. blind-yet-impatient-Curtis closes the doors.
I don't look at the bus as it passes me yet I can feel so many pairs of eyes watching me.
I've only ridden the bus with those kids twice and they've already started physically bullying me.
Last year I didn't have to worry about them because they rode an actual school bus for their school. But this year Lee High School is supposed to be closing down soon, so all of the funding for buses has ended. Which is unfortunate for everyone.
What was once a quiet bus ride for me has turned into a visit to the zoo and what was once a normal bus ride for them has also turned into a visit to the zoo. Of course, I'm the one in the cage.
