Dares with the Boy Who Doesn't Care

Chapter Five (Rose POV)

"Ooh fun!" Noah says, reacting before Mark can.

"Yeah," Mark agrees "I actually like this one."

"But who are you going to prank call?" Leo asks what I'm too shy to, or too in shock to as Cameron would probably say.

I say 'probably' because I really don't know these guys, which is scary because I'm expected to spend time with them everyday after school. Everything that they do is unpredictable, even the rumors and things I heard around school couldn't prepare me for what I'm living right now. Everything that we do is unpredictable. I don't even know how many dares there are, written on tiny slips of paper inside of that shiny silver box. I don't know what they say. I don't know who wrote them and I don't know any background information about them nor this so called 'club'. I'll ask them questions about it once I get a bit more comfortable.

"Hm, I don't know." Mark tilts his head

"What about Daniel?" Noah brings up someone I don't know.

"No, I'm not prank calling my older brother." That answers that.

"What about Lexi she was being rather bitchy today." He pitches another idea. "We could call her and pretend to be one of her girlfriends with some gossip or something."

"No I don't feel like hearing her annoying voice."

"I have Ms. Avery's number." Cameron's suggestion is the weirdest.

"Ew, Why? Actually I don't want to know." Jamie seems as weirded out as I am.

"Yeah you don't."

"I can call her pretending to be the Superintendent then fire her for something. Drugs? Sex with a student?"

"No that's too much."

"I think it's perfect."

"No, you should just call her and let her confess something to you." Jamie alludes, though I'm not sure where they're going with this.

"Good idea you could say something like 'How could you do this?' or 'I know what you did.' Haha this is going to be perfect." Noah's voice changes three times.

"I have an app that gives a fake number, and when they call back it'll say that the number doesn't exist."

"Great then we'll use your phone."

After scrolling through Cameron's phone Mark settles and puts it on speaker. It dials. one....

"Did you use the app?" Cameron asks.

"Yes, now shut up."

two......three..........

"Hello." Ms.Avery picks up after the third ring.

Noah gasps and Mark shoots him a look to be quiet. "Hello this is the Superintendent and I have a very important matter to discuss with you." His voice sounds like Morgan Freeman's over the phone. The app must give off a fake voice as well.

"Really?- I mean um, Hello Dr. Reeves I'm very surprised to receive your call."

Noah covers his mouth, about to explode with laughter.

"But I thought you were a female." Ms. Avery catches us all of guard we look back and forth from each other and Jamie motions for Mark to just roll with it.

"I am a woman! What are you trying to suggest? Do you really think now is the appropriate time to insult me or question my gender?!"

"No, not at all." Ms. Avery says frantically.
