The healers took over a day to fully heal Erwen's wound and yet another three days added on after that to allow her to rest and recover.

Although Melda had nowhere to be, she felt pressured to get moving and get as far from her kingdom as possible. She felt as if guards from the Woodland Realm were at their heals, or already at Lothlorien waiting for them to move from their spot. But for those five days, Melda stayed in her given room thinking about the possibilities. Where would she go? Where would she settle down and live without having to return? Or would she have to run for the rest of her immortal life? She did not know exactly, but she knew that she had to figure it out before she returned Erwen to her lost family.

But as the days slipped by, Melda felt her feelings get numb. She would sit and think about her past life for hours every single day. That is until the healers gave notice that Erwen was all better.

Melda raced to Erwen’s room. It was a small wooden built room standing on its own. Its walls had carvings of branches and leaves, adding extra decoration into the plain room.

She looked around the small room in wonder when she laid her eyes on her; Erwen. her skin color was back to normal and she looked well rested.

Slowly, she walked next to her bed and knelt down beside her, “Erwen?”

Erwen’s eyes slowly opened, “Melda! Oh thank you so much, you saved me.”

“It wasn’t me who saved you, Erwen,” Melda replied, earning a look of confusion from Erwen.

“What do you mean?”

At that moment, Sawyer came in as if on cue, “How is she?”

“Doing well,” Melda answered, “Our journey should proceed any time now.”

“Who are you?” Erwen asked, “Wait. You’re the person who wanted to kill us.”

Sawyer looked at her in confusion, “You must be mistaken. I am Sawyer of Rohan, I do not kill only foes.”

“Rohan? Is it possible that you might be heading there now?” Erwen sat up, swinging her legs to the side of the bed.

“I am actually,” He replied, “I have sick relatives who needed medicine and I had to fetch it from the elves. I am heading back to Edoras now.”

“Edoras?” Erwen asked, a look of both surprise and happiness on her face. She looked over at Melda who was clearly puzzled.

“Is that where you need to go, Erwen?” She asked, getting a nod from the girl, “Then, may we journey beside you, Sawyer?”

Sawyer was hesitant at first, but seeing this girl’s need of reuniting with her family changed his mind, “Alright, but we must be quick. Ive got to get home as soon as I can.”
