JACKS POV
The next morning I wake up wanting to go back to bed. Last night's events had drained me of energy. I sigh before finally pulling back the covers and at the same time I hear my phone buzz. I look at it, seeing the screen light up with message on the screen.
Mark: Hey bby. I'm not coming to school today. Going to the hospital. Luv u.
I frown slightly at him saying he wasn't coming to school, but I understand his reasoning, he loves his dad and this is killing I'm seeing his dad like this.
Me: ok, I understand. I can walk over after school if you want some company?
Mark: sure, I'll see you then.
Me: luv u.
I dress and pack my bag before walking down the stairs to the kitchen where I have some cereal. I eat quickly and walk out the door after waving mum goodbye.
~ Time skip for school~
I walk down the corridor that leads to the schoolyard and posters for the formal line it. I am so excited at just the thought of dancing with Mark it brings goose bumps to my arms. I continue walking until I see my friends sitting at our table and almost immediately, Phil sees me and starts calling me over. Laughing at his stupid enthusiasm I walk over and join the conversation.
"So, before I was interrupted by Phil, do you guys want to head out to dinner with Cry and I before the formal, so we can celebrate before we get piss drunk?" Felix asks and everyone starts chiming in with their opinions.
"Felix, everyone will have to see me without my mask. You know how insecure I am."
"We can come, sounds fun as long as it's not some expensive joint like Saison and if it's not too much pressure on Cry." Phil agrees and Joey and Daniel second the motion.
"Well Cry agreed to take his mask off at the formal anyway. He just hates that he blinds people with his beauty." Felix laughs and Cry burries himself into Felix's body.
Tyler says it depends if the person he wants to ask to the formal will go with him.
"Oooooh. I didn't know you were crushing on someone? Who is it?" Cry says. Although his mask is hiding his face I can tell he is grinning.
"Please do tell," I prod.
"Stop!" he laughs, blushing tomato red, "I'll tell you after I ask him. Okay?"
We all groan in protest but agree just as the bell goes for roll call.
MARKS POV
I get out of the car and walk into the hospital. The waiting room is rather empty with only several people sitting spread out among the rows of seats. I walk up to reception where a young woman with brunette hair sits at a computer, smiling as she sees me walk up to the bench.
"Good morning sir. How may I help you?"
"I'm here to see Mr. Fiscbach."
"Okay, just give me a second... uh- he is in the ICU. Are you close family?"
"I'm his son."
"Over 18?" I nod. "Can I see some ID?"
I hand over my driver's licence and she checks over it with a single glance before handing it back to me while smiling.
"If you just wait a moment, I'll bring a nurse out to take you to see him," she says.
"One question. My partner will be here later this afternoon, can-"
