Elliot's POV

"It's a day for school, It's a day for misery. Well, for someone who's lonely. I wonder if they want a friend to be with?" I thought while walking to school. I looked at my phone and realized that there are 5 minutes left before I'm considered late.

I arrived in the classroom, panting. Mr. Carter looked at me and said "Elliot, this is the 3rd time you've arrived in this classroom exhausted. Are you getting enough rest?"

I replied, "Yes, Sir- I...I mean Mr. Carter. I didn't realize what time it was when I was walking to school."

"Very well, I appreciate your effort in trying. Take your seat in your...seat and I'll start," he said.

I took a seat on my uhh...seat. Scarlette, Rose, and Felix gave me the look of a disappointed mother, and I looked back at them with the smile of a slightly embarrassed child. I noticed how Aiden didn't give me one of his playful looks, I wonder if he is in a bad mood.

"Okay 9th graders, I want to know how you'll do on stage. You will be performing a play with your group, a.k.a the first group you had (but of course you already knew that), the day after tomorrow. Go to your groups and I will discuss the details." Mr. Carter announced.

Everyone stands up and we meet up with our group. I noticed how Rose and Sophia are even more close to each other than before. Before I could say anything, Mr. Carter blows his whistle to turn our attention to him.

"Damn, this whistle can really get people's attention. Due to our allotted time, the play will be short. However, I don't want the play to end in 30 seconds or less. The duration of this play will be 7-10 minutes. The theme of your plays will be fairy tales. I will give each group a piece of paper. On that paper, it shows what fairy tale your group is going to play." Mr. Carter instructed as he gave us a piece of paper.

"Also, don't let anyone know your assigned play. Just for, you know, suspense." Mr. Carter added.

Mr. Carter gave a folded paper to Sophia. We were all excited to see what are we were going to re-enact. Sophia unfolded the paper and we got...

"Red Riding Hood and there is a list of our names and our roles in here," said Rose

"Oh look! I'm going to be the Red Riding Hood. I will never, ever walk into a forest alone..." Scarlette commented with a grin.

"It is a blessing that I can freely slay Felix without hesitation." as I said when I saw that I have the role of a woodcutter.

Mr. Carter implied "If your tiny minds have any questions, feel free to ask my huge brain."

Kara, from another group, raised her hand and asked: "Do we need any props, Mr. Carter?"

"Well uhh, if you want to. It also gives you extra points. Feel free to use props or backdrops." Mr. Carter replied.

Our group had begun discussing while I was fidgetting my hands.

Scarlette: We don't have enough time to discuss and practice it here completely. I suggest we go to Elli's house later, practice and polish the scenes, then we can rehearse the final thing tomorrow.

Elliot: Uh-huh.

Rose: I wonder what his house looks like on the inside, especially his room.

Elliot: Uh...

Rose: So, your room is messy and not really maintained.

Elliot: Uh-huh.

Scarlette: Howbout if we go to Sophia's house instead.

Sophia: Uhmmm, my sister has an activity with her book club. I don't think there will be enough space for us
