Chapter 6: Take The Stage

Scarlette's POV

High school has been fun from my experiences, so far. Today, my group will be performing "Red Riding Hood" and to be honest, I'm nervous. I'm carrying a basket of apples and the costumes as I walk. I admit that they're heavy. While walking, I saw Aiden looking at a poster pinned on the wall.

"Hey, Aiden!" I greeted him.

"HUH?!" Aiden shocked.

"What?!" I exclaimed.

"Were you sneaking up on me?" Aiden asked.

"N-No. I just saw you staring at that piece of uhhh...art." I replied.

"Can you also help me with my stuff?" I added.

"Sure thing," Aiden replied.

He took the basket of apples I was holding and some costumes. Then, we walked slowly in the hallway.

Scarlette: You seem silent, what happened?

Aiden: What? I've never felt more energetic.

Scarlette: You don't look energetic to me.

Aiden: Well I guess you can say that I'm not getting enough rest. I practiced my lines the whole night.

Scarlette: I-I see, I have been doing the same thing. What fairy tale are you guys going to play? and what's your role in it?

Aiden: Mr. Carter said let's not share it for suspense.

Scarlette: Aww.

Aiden: By the way, why do you have this many costumes?

Scarlette: Oh, I went shopping with my group for costumes and props, my mom bought all these costumes and props, they were at our house, so I had to bring them all myself. Elli and Felix's have their hands full of props. Sophia and Rose are testing out the backgrounds, and I am stuck with the costumes and... apples.

Aiden: By the looks of your costumes, I think your play is Snow White.

Scarlette: Haha, you guessed right.

Aiden: ...

Scarlette: So, how's Chloe and Shaun?

Aiden: They seem to be having fun.

Scarlette: That's nice, I wanted to talk to them since the first day.

Aiden: Why won't you talk to them?

Scarlette: I've tried, but they always seem to be together with your group.

Aiden: Well, they wanted to talk to you.

Scarlette: Yeah, I know.

When we stepped into the classroom, I noticed that they're all staring at us.

"Good morning!" I greeted them.

Then without a warning, Aiden got hit by some sort of cardboard.

"Oh, so sorry, I didn't mean to." said a voice.

When we looked back, it was Felix, Elli, and Rose carrying the props.

"Woah, That's a lot of props!" Aiden exclaimed.

"A lot? We lacked trees," said Elli.

I noticed how people around the room began to talk about our props.

"Heh, looks like we became the hot topic because of these props," said Felix.

Mr. Carter appeared behind us and said: "Well students, you can all be hot topics when you stop blocking the door."
