"Hey, are you ok?" Jack asked as he looked at Mark. He was staring blankly at the dash of the sleigh. "Hey, Markle Sparkle, you there?" Jack smiled a small bit when he saw a tiny one appear on the Nutcracker's face.
"Yeah, I'm here." He said quietly. "I'm ok just..."
"Upset?"
"And hurting. I am never going to let him know that what Felix said wasn't true. He died thinking I wanted them dead..." Jack frowned sadly and offered him a hug. Mark looked at him for a moment before leaning into his hug sadly.
"It's ok..." He said softly to him and pet his hair a bit. "You can still tell your mother and your brother."
"How? I can't even walk into one of the towns without being chased out."
"Disguise," Jack said simply with a smile. "You might look nice in a dress." He smiled more hearing Mark laugh a bit.
"Yeah, no. No way am I wearing a dress." Then he sniffed. Mark couldn't cry but if he could, he would be. He kept petting the Prince's hair in a comforting gesture.
"Let's draw a mustache on you. A pink one."
"I am trying to hide, not stand out."
"Oh come on! You could be Wilford Warfstache." Mark laughed again and shook his head.
"No way what so ever." Jack laughed a bit with him. They sat there in silence for a while before Mark pulled away and smiled at Jack. "Thanks. I needed that."
"No probl- Mark..." Jack looked shocked and Mark didn't understand why.
"What?"
"Come with me." He took his arm after he stood up and pulled him around the crowd while looking around for something to show Mark his reflection. He found something eventually that would do well enough. "Look." He watched the man as he looked in the small looking glass. His face changed from confused, to shocked, to happiness. The nutcracker prince was now a human prince. He looked at Jack in silence for a moment before yanking him into a tight hug and spinning him around with a smile and a laugh.
"I'm human!" He yelled happily. Everyone stopped and watched them as Jack laughed with the man. After Amy cleared her throat when she finally managed to get to them and he put the Irishman down.
"Well, Prince Mark, since this spell has been broken I suppose you want to celebrate a bit? Maybe find a way to thank him?" Mark looked at Jack with a smile and offered his hand.
"I don't have a good enough way to thank you for what you did for me, so would you settle for a dance with me?" Jack wanted to say no since he was tired of dancing but the look on his face made the man change his answer.
"Sure. I'll settle for a dance." He told the prince with a lopsided smile. Mark took his hand and lead him to an empty area, everyone moving out of the way for them, before facing him. "You can lead."
"I am so honored." They both chuckled and when the music started the prince lead the smaller Irishman in dance, making large circling loops. Ethan and Tyler stood next to Amy, talking quietly to her. Mark didn't notice. Jack didn't notice. They were just looking at each other and having fun. Nothing seemed to stop them for a while until they were both dizzy and tired. While they were dancing the circles got smaller and they went faster as the music changed from a waltz to something faster.
"I gotta stop, I'm too dizzy to stand properly!" Jack told him with a laugh, making him laugh as well.
"Alright. I want to take you to see something but we can sit first." They walked towards a seat but they couldn't walk straight because of how dizzy they were, laughing while they walked. For a while, they sat on a bottom step that Jack hadn't noticed before and joked around and once they were able to walk properly Mark took him up those stairs.
"Hey, where are we going?"
"You'll see." Mark told him with a smile as he led him up the stairs. For a long time, they walked up those stairs in silence until they reached the top. Mark went up first. "Close your eyes." Jack looked unsure as he eyed the man but listened when the prince offered his hand. He took the man's hand and helped him up the rest of the steps. He continued to lead the way and position him near the rail. For a moment Jack feared that Mark would push him over the edge, but when he whispered for him to open his eyes it went away. Jack looked at the amazing view in shock. He could see an entire kingdom sprawled out so tiny he could mistake everything for fireflies. He was in so much awe he couldn't say anything at first. "This is my home. The one I got banished from."
"This is... amazing." Jack said simply before looking at the prince. "Your family controlled all of this?"
"Yes, until Felix had gotten his hands on my mother and brother." He told him quietly with a sad gaze to his home. I always found my way to this view when my homesickness became too much to bare..."
"How are you going to get home?"
"I'm not sure yet, but I will figure it out soon... I need too..." Jack had Mark turn his head to look at him.
"You will don't worry." He said gently to the man. They smiled at each other until Mark saw something fly behind the slightly smaller man's head. His smile fell as he walked past him and tried to get a good look at the object. The color drained from his face. "Markiplier?"
"We need to go down now."
