"where are we?" you look at the scene around you. you were in an open forest, a waterfall flowing to your left. there were purple flowers followed by the greenest vines you've ever seen climbing up almost every single tree trunk.

"i place i go to when i'm.. not feeling great." he says, not wanting to admit he has genuine feelings.

"you know you don't have to pretend around me, right?" you say, turning around to face him. "i'm not pretending." he says, grabbing your face in his hand as he kisses you.

"i have a question." you say, breaking the kiss. he groans slightly, but nods for you to continue. "what is it like to have wings?" you ask, then furrow your eyebrows. "wait, you do have wings, right? i just assumed because you're an archangel and everything—"

"yes, i do." he cuts you off, smiling. "i only have them out during extreme battle, and still, only i see them. it's great though, ya know, with the perks of flying and everything." he chuckles, looking at you.

"can i see them?" you ask. his eye contact with you breaks almost immediately, his cheery exterior breaking a bit.

"i'm sorry, i didn't mean to upset you or anything." you say, sitting on a fallen tree.

"no, you didn't, love." he says, sitting next to you. "it's just..." he stops, thinking.

"no ones ever seen them because it's an extremely personal thing to share with someone, especially someone.. human." he says, grabbing your hand and stroking it with his thumb.

"you don't have to do anything your not comfortable with." you say, smiling as you touch his cheek. he kisses you gently, pulling away. "your wish is my command." he smirks, turning away from you after closing his eyes.

your eyes go wide as you look at the sight before you. there was a bright flash of light, so you shielded your eyes with your arm for a moment, before uncovering them.

your jaw was agape as you saw them. there were six of them, and they were huge. they were the purest white you've ever had the pleasure to look at... and they looked so soft.

you couldn't help but reach out and run your fingers through the feathers on one of his right wings.

"oh my god." you whispered. it felt like running your hand trough the softest cloud you could imagine; but even softer. you subconsciously continued to run your fingers through them when you hear a slight groaning noise coming from lucifer. you stopped when you realized what it was, "oh! i-i'm so sorry." you couldn't help but giggle a little bit.

"as i said, extremely personal." you could feel the smile radiating off of him, even though he was turned away. you couldn't help yourself as you reached out and ran your fingers through the bottom half of one of his left wings.

you pulled away when you saw how tight he was gripping the fallen tree trunk. "they're just so soft.. it's hard to resist." you smile, putting your hands down. he 'put away' his wings, turning back towards you.

"did they look.. okay?" he almost mumbled. you smiled at him, knowing his insecurities were vibrant (and his pride). "they're beautiful, lucifer. incredible." you say, cupping his cheek in your hand as you kiss him softly.

"sam and dean are probably worried about you." lucifer said, regretting it as soon as he said it. "yeah.." you puff your cheeks and blow air out from your mouth, sighing. "c'mon." he said, opening his arms. you smile and wrap your arms around him, burying your head into his chest.

you opened your eyes, and he was gone.

"jerk." you whisper, smiling. he flew you back to the bunker before he disappeared, and you knew you had to deal with sam and dean now.

you walked into the library, seeing not only sam and dean, but cas too.

"y/n." dean stated, looking at you.

"you're obviously not listening to us, so i thought i'd bring cas in. he's an angel, he understands all this angelic lucifer crap more than anyone we know." dean shrugs

you sigh, sitting in one of the chairs.

"so i've heard you've been sexually intimate with lucifer."

you choke on the air, putting your hands on the table. "i'd just like everyone here to know that me and lucifer have not done.. that." you say, seeing dean and sam sigh in relief.

"i see. so... nothing involving the pizza man?" cas furrows his eyebrows.

"the— what?"

"it's a porno cas watched. he never stops quoting it..." dean puts his hands on his temples.

"we've only kissed." you say, looking at castiel. "i mean, i don't know if this means anything but.. i uh," you stop, motioning for cas to move close to you, "he showed me his wings?" you whisper so only he could hear, still not knowing what it meant.

"HE SHOWED YOU HIS WINGS?!" cas yelled as his eyes widened.

you wince, looking to sam and dean for a reaction. "what does that mean?" dean asks.

"it— ugh.." he sighs in frustration as he sits down. "cas... what does it mean." dean growls.

"it basically means that they're bonded for life. an angel— let alone an archangel— doesn't show just anybody their wings. it's a sign of immense trust."

"bonded for life? what the hell does that mean?" dean asks. "look, i don't know why lucifer took such an interest in y/n, but he did." cas sighs. "look, dean," he lowers his voice a bit, "i came here with every intention of talking her out of a relationship with lucifer... but this isn't a trick. he really does love her." cas finishes.

love.

'he loves me?' you think to yourself, not being able to hide the smile on your lips.
