I felt nervous as I set foot in the coffee shop. I knew Lily wouldn't judge me, but the feelings remained. I saw her sitting in the corner, her waving grabbing my attention. I smiled at her and hurried over, taking a seat opposite her.

"How are you?" I asked as I sat. She chuckled,

"I'm great. I think the more important question is how are you?"

"I am.." I couldn't find the right word. "Doing ok."

"Well, what happened with you and Josh?!" She exclaimed.

"Jeremy and I shared a bed, platonically, Josh and I argued about it and then he admitted to kissing someone else. I then broke up with him and told my Mother I'd marry the Duke of Lancaster for the succession."

Lily was speechless.

"It's been a turbulent week." I admitted, looking out the window down at the pedestrians on the street below us.

"You're not actually going to marry him, are you?" Lily asked, clearly shocked.

"I am." I responded, nodding. "I don't love him, I'll admit, but he is a suitable candidate. I can't keep waiting for someone to sweep me off my feet, Lily. I don't have the time. If I marry Julian I can stabilise the monarchy and my reputation."

"So you're not going to renounce like you said?" She asked, eyeing me suspiciously. I shook my head.

"I realised that I was just doing that for Josh. There's no point to it now, Lily."

Lily sighed. "Well, whatever you want, I'll support you."

"Thank you." I smiled. "It means a lot to hear that from you." I paused, "Which is why I'd be really happy if you could be my maid of honour."

Lily let out a loud squeal, grabbing the attention of most of the coffee shop.

"Sorry," She called before turning back to me and grinning widely. "I'd love to!"

"Good. I'm sure your love of planning will come into use when it comes to the hen party." I grinned.

"I have so many ideas." Her eyes were a little big with the excitement of the situation.

"No strippers, Lily." I said. She pouted,

"Please?"

"I don't think I want that splashed all over the papers the day of my wedding."

"Fine." She huffed. "No strippers. But I can certainly think of things that will be just as scandalous."

"Great." I chuckled.
