I woke, alone, and immediately felt the pit of nerves rise in my stomach. Today was the day. It felt odd, in a way. My only other experience of a wedding morning was sneaking back into the Palace like a criminal after spending the night at Josh's. Thankfully, it wasn't quite the same situation today. It had been a few weeks since Josh and I had decided to marry and I couldn't quite believe the day was already here.

Lily was in the twin bed next to me, sitting up. Her face lit up when she'd seen I'd woken, prompting her to jump out of bed and throw herself on mine. She was like an excitable puppy, overjoyed at the fact I was getting married and even more overjoyed that she could see the wedding.

I groaned loudly, pulling myself up into a sitting position. "I think you're crushing my leg."

"Oh, please," She scoffed. "I'm just so excited!" She promptly squealed after finishing her sentence. I rolled my eyes,

"I can't imagine what you'd be like if the wedding was a royal affair." I muttered, taking my phone from the bedside table. "You'd be squealing like a piglet."

"You know it." She winked. Lily eyed my phone and shook her head like a teacher scolding a naughty child, snatching it from my hand and throwing it across the room.

"Lily!" I exclaimed. She shook her head again, merely reaffirming her stance.

"No texting him! You'll have to wait till you see him at the altar. After all, you'll be spending all night with him."

"It wasn't that." I responded, shaking my head. "I just feel a little ill. I was going to text Jeremy and ask if he could go get some tablets for nausea. I can't send you."

"Nerves." She replied confidently, nodding. I shook my head again, dismissing her.

"I am somewhat worried, Lily. I have been having bouts of sickness over the last few days and-"

"Oh my God." Her eyes widened a little. "You don't think that-"

"Shit." I blurted, interrupting her. In truth, thoughts of pregnancy hadn't crossed my mind. I'd never had to really worry about it and I had forgotten about it actually being a possibility.

"Is it Josh's?" Lily spoke. "You can tell me, honest."

"I haven't slept with anyone else, Lily." I snapped, rolling my eyes. She seemed confused.

"But when?!"

"Isn't it obvious?" I grinned. Her eyed widened even more at the revelation.

"So that's where you went." She spoke, referencing my disappearance the night before my wedding. "Scandalous."

"Exactly! It'll be a month on Wednesday, it's plausible!" I exclaimed, hitting her arm lightly. "Look, I need you to buy a test."

"A test?! What the hell are you going to do with it?"

"Well, what do you think?" I asked, grinning at her. She shook her head.

"Ask Jeremy! You were content enough to ask about nausea tablets."

"He'll alert Josh." I warned. "Nausea tablets are more discreet than a friggin' pregnancy test, Lily."

"That's true." She admitting, acknowledging my point. "But we need to be at the church in an hour! I don't have time!"

"Not right now, Lily." I grinned. "Just when you have a chance. I can't be seen buying it; they'll speculate that I postponed the marriage because I'm having another man's baby."
