I lay there for a while listening to Josh's slow breaths before picking my phone up, checking if there was anything urgent. As soon as I opened my phone, I wished I hadn't. I had at least twenty missed calls, many of them from Edward and Mother, a bombardment of texts and screenshots. Even Rosa had sent me a message asking if I was ok.
I'm at Josh's. I'm fine. Stop ringing me.
I sent it to everyone I had missed calls and messages from, but it only led to more bombardment, particularly from Edward.
Smithers is coming to collect you. You're going to go with him.
I will NOT. I am staying at my boyfriend's until he has to go for his flight.
You will do it, Matilda. I'm not arguing with you.
Is that an order?
As King.
I was frustrated by Edward's abuse of power. He didn't see it that way but it made me seethe with anger. Josh's flight was in a few hours and he'd have to leave soon — why shouldn't I be permitted to spend this time with him before four months of separation?
I heard a gasp from the main room, prompting me to wake Josh and leave him to getting more lively from his own devices. I walked into the kitchen and saw Jeremy and Hugh peering down at the table, paper in front of them.
"What's got your knickers in a twist?" I teased, walking between them. I read the headline, my eyes widening.
THE PRINCESS MATILDA AND THE VIOLENT HEEL
Whether it is right a Princess of this country should throw her heel — and subsequently knock out — a member of the general public is not up for debate. Last night, returning her partner, Josh Dylan's, home, the Princess grew angered by the paparazzi presence and decided to take action. Below are some of the shots of the Princess just before the incident.
It is not befitting of the Royalty of this country, who live on the taxpayers money, to behave in this way when representing our country. We must implore King Edward to marry soon to secure the line of succession, if only to stop this buffoon from ever becoming Queen.
Sadly, there is no footage of the Princess committing the deed as the Palace have put a block on the press releasing what there is. However, we are reliably informed of what happened and point you to Reese Witherspoon's re-enactment, with an ice-cream standing in for the Princess' weapon; her heel.
