"Ok. So basically what you're saying is, Blake has a problem with Maddox because of something his father did. Now, he is planning to get revenge on him?" James asked Veronica.

We were all back in the office since yesterday didn't go so well. Genesis was beside Maddox and I. Veronica was in front on James's desk answering questions and giving him information.

Maddox's face was swept clean of emotion but from the constant jumping of his leg I could tell that he was scared. Hell I would be too if some crazy ass psych was trying to get to me over something so... dumb.

I wrapped my hand around Maddox's arm and payed my head on his shoulder. I don't want him to be scared but he has a reason to be. My comfort is the only thing that could ease it.

"Basically, yeah." Veronica said and nonchalantly shrugged.

James heaved out a heavy sigh, dragging a tired hand down his face. We've been sitting in the office for a while now. I ,for one, am kind of hungry and agitated.

A fucking dumb idiot is trying to take out Maddox because of some stupid family feud.

"Alright guys, we're done for the day. Sorry I called you all in here early morning I just wanted to get this over with. Maddox and I will continue this conversation later. You all are free to go." James said.

Maddox took my hand and pulled me up with him and headed to the kitchen.

"I'll make you a plate, sit down." He said. Just as he was going to walk away I grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

I want to do it for him. It is the least I could do, hell the man has a psycho out trying to kill him.

"Let me do it." I insisted.

"No its fine I-"

"Please." I pushed grabbing his hands in mine. He's pulling this tough facade on me but I can see right through it. I know deep down that he is worried and scared. Blake could come for him or everything he loves and I know that scares him.

Finally, Maddox let up. Sighing heavily he pulled me close to kiss my forehead and sat down.

I walked up to the table where the food was laid out decided to serve him first before myself. I gave him pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and some fruit to balance it out. Grabbing a glass of orange juice I walked back over to the table and sat his plate down before getting my food.

Finally, I sat down and began eating. We sat in comfortable silence, though there was slight tension due to the Blake situation. Last night James and Maddox decided to up the patrol around the area and have a curfew placed for everyone in the pack just to be cautious.

"You didn't have to do that, you know?" Maddox says flipping a piece of bacon in his mouth.

"I know I didn't. I wanted to, though." I said.

Maddox reaches over and grabs my hand in his, caressing my knuckles.

"Why is that?" He asked sending me a flirty smile.

I smiled back and held his hand tighter in mine. "Baby, you have enough to worry about right now and-"

"Octavia, dont-"

"No, let me finish." I said. Maddox put his fork down and looked at me to continue.

"You have done so much for everyone. Especially for me. You helped me out of an emotionally abusive relationship and plus I made a friend and even more. You do so much for everyone and while doing so, you ignore your personal needs. So with that being said, I am going to treat you whether you like it or not." There it is. I put my foot down and he better not say anything else because that was all I got. I quirked my brow, daring him to say something else.

"I mean-"

Got dammit! Say something back!

"You bette hush now. Be glad that I'm not feeding you your food and letting you eat by yourself, mister." I popped my bacon in my mouth and Maddox stopped talking.

A deep chuckle rumbled from him as he finished his food. After Maddox and I were done, I washed the dishes and we headed upstairs to get dressed. Maddox started to talk about going into town and taking me with him so I just put on some blue jeans with a white shirt and my white slides.

My hair was one thing that needed the most time since I didn't braid it down last night. I pulled out my hair gel and parted my hair down the middle. Two long braids and minimal makeup would do just fine. After braiding my hair I just added eyeliner, filled in my brows, and put some highlight on.

"Alright babe I'm rea-" Sweet Christmas there he was.

Maddox had on casual clothes that I so wanted to rip off of his body. The gray shirt matched his eyes and the black pants did well for his ass. All in all, my man is fine.

"See something you like, babygirl?"

My eyes slowly dragged to his face being met with a smug look. He knew he looked good, damn good at that, and he just caught me eyeballing his ass.

"Hell yes." I said out of spite. Maddox deeply chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist dragging me closer to him.

The feeling of his chest against mine still gives me these jitters. Y'know, the "I want to devour you" jitters.

"You're beautiful." He whispered. I could practically feel the fluttering in my stomach and the twitching of my fingers.

My hands seemed to have a mind of their own when I grabbed the back of his neck and slammed his lips into mine. It didn't take long for him to register what just happened as I felt his plump lips move against my own. Being pulled impossibly closer to his body feeling the hardness of his chest and abs, running my hands over his broad shoulders down his big strong arms made me want to forget the fact that we agreed to going into town.

Maddox's hand coming down hard on my ass made me gasp allowing his to slip his hot tongue in my mouth. Feeling his tongue practically make love to mine had me moaning before I could stop them.

As much as I pained me to end the orgasmic kiss, I had to.

I pulled back and leaned my forehead against his as we caught our breath.

"I'm glad you stopped, because I was so close to having you under me."

Now I suddenly regret stopping. Good job, Avi.

With a quick peck on the lips we headed out to town but not before telling James first.

We made our way to town and parked the truck.

"Why are we here anyways?" I asked.

"Well, honestly I really needed to clear my head." He said nervously scratching the back of his head.

I stopped walking and turned to face Maddox. I brought my hand up to his cheek and kissed it.

"I'm sorry this is happening baby." I smiled reassuringly. Even if him and I were in a burning building I'd still have his back to make sure he got out first.

Maddox grabbed my hand in his and payed a chaste kiss on it before kissing my forehead.

"I don't want anything to happen to you. You're very important to me and I rather walk on shattered glass with a dragon standing on my shoulder than to see a strand of your hair get pulled out." I laughed at him and soon he joined in.

"Come on let's walk around for a bit then we'll get going." And we went, hand in hand, talking and laughing.

He's the one.
