Diana lead the way to her pack house located deep on the forest. The perimeter was surrounded by golden gates. I guess there alpha is a dramatic type of guy.

Guards were posted on the each side of the gate and nodded at Diana before opening the gates. We walked through catching wandering eyes of pack members. Before we knew it we were standing right in front of the office. Diana knocked.

"Alpha Garrett, I have visitors." She said.

"Come in." We walked behind Diana and into a huge office. Almost twice the size of James's office.

The walls were an olive color while the floor was covered in black wood. The desk the man- er wolf was sitting at was dark brown. Guess he likes the feel of the forest, especially with the nature sounds in the background.

"Ah, hello Diana and guests." Alpha Garrett gets up from his chair and greets Genesis and I with a handshake while giving Diana a nod.

He stood at about 6 feet and had a muscular build. His skin was as dark as mine and his hair was in a low cut style.

"May I ask what this is all about?" He says before leaning on the desk. Genesis and I were gestured to take a seat and we complied.

"Uh, I'm so sorry for coming on your land the way I did." Genesis started.

"I'm not from around here and neither is my friend here. You see, my pack has been receiving threats late-"

"I'm sorry to interrupt but whose pack?" The man asks.

"Oh, Alpha James and I." Genesis clears up.

"A-alpha James?" Alpha Garrett stuttered.

Genesis and I shared a look of confusion before cautiously nodding.

He chuckled. "Alpha James and I share an alliance. I'm surprised he hasn't reached out for help, is everything alright?"

"No, not at all."

Genesis went on explaining our predicament with the whole threat being made to our pack and the kidnapping but what really caught our attention was the look on Alpha Garrett's face after we mentioned the name Veronica.

"Veronica? You mean that crazy sociopath? She's the one who kidnapped you guys." He repeated.

"Yup," I butted in this time. "I'm actually dating her ex. I'm Beta Maddox Hendrix's mate and I am human as you can- uh, smell."

"Okay, well let me tell you something about that witch. I am also her ex boyfriend. We dated for some time, well actually her and I were just fooling around and eventually it became something else to her. She began stalking me, turning the other women against me, she even slashed my tired because I was helping this injured female warrior get on her feet. She wasn't apart of my pack but she stayed down here for a while. I had to push her away so many times before she complied and left me alone. One day, she just disappeared. I'm guessing right after all of that, she figured out where Maddox was and started to plan."

Wow! She really is crazy. This wo- no, not a woman. This psycho wasn't only going after Maddox and I. I guess she isn't happy with the word no.

"Alright enough of that. Now, who did you say was the person threatening you all?" Alpha Garrett said pouring all of us a glass of liquor after offering.

"It was Blake." Genesis sighed.

The sound of glass shattering on the floor caught our attention. Our heads snapped in the direction of Alpha Garrett. His face held confusion and looked as if he was in deep thought.

"Blake, as in Black Harris?" He asked unbelievably.

"Yeah, why? Did he threaten you too?" Genesis asked with concern.

"No." He shook his head in deep confusion.

"Blake has been dead for months."

Maddox's POV

My face is getting skinnier. My body is becoming weaker by the hour and Marcus cut off the link to save his energy. Being away from Octavia is draining James and I.

The simple feeling of not knowing is they were safe or not was slowly killing us. I can't remember when I showered, it was probably the day before the kidnapping which was about four days ago. The girls had to be knocked out from the dart shot at them for while.

One thing is for sure though, my mate is alive. I can still feel her through the bond even though she isn't a wolf.

I hadn't noticed my door was pulled open until Trent's voice interrupted my train of thought.

"Hey." He said before coming in and sitting on the bed.

I felt his hand on my shoulder give an encouraging squeeze. I guess that was supposed to "cheer me up".

"We're going to find them. I have enough faith in this pack and its trackers. We will find our luna and beta female. Also, James wants us to meet in his office as soon as we can to start planning on the attack." Trent got up form the bed and shut the door after sending a crooked smile.

A few minutes later I finally mustered up the courage to get off the bed and head to the office. James may also have some news on where the two women are located.

Maddox. Marcus's voice startled me causing me to halt right in front of the door.

Hey, big guy. I said. I was really concerned for my wolf. I can see how these past few days have taken a toll on him. Like me, he is also getting smaller. It was my fault, I was supposed to be taking care of the both of us and I failed. If we are going to go after Genesis and Octavia then I- we need to be strong.

I'm sorry I started you. I just couldn't shake this feeling. He said.

What feeling? I asked. Usually when your wolf has a gut feeling about something, it is 100% right.

Like-like the whole plan thing is going to backfire. Or maybe not backfire, I- I don't know. I just feel weird. Like we got it all wrong. Marcus said as he paced around.

I agree with him though. This whole situation just doesn't seem right to me. I mean, why now? Veronica showing up not only made things awkward between the girls but her whole presence has caused a fucking catastrophe.

My girls are missing, my pack is feeling the loss of not only their luna but my beta female, and the girls are probably scared out of their fucking mind. I swear when I get my hands onVeronica, the devil won't have shit now what I've got waiting for her.

I can feel the primal side of me stirring up wanting so bad to be unleashed. The burning sensation of revenge in my soul never seemed so aggressive until now.

I will burn down every building and battle every wolf in the way of you Octavia. I'm coming for you.
