"I swear if Darrel plays the drums one more time!" Genesis says as she plopped painfully into her seat.

Everyone was around the table sitting together with Maddox, of course, to the left of me. We all woke up around the same time which was kind of odd, maybe gross. Even Trent came in with a grimace on his face from shifting too much in his sleep.

"Right! Damn asshole wants to play the drums all night but he couldn't do it when we were all out of our rooms." He snapped while rubbing a cramp out of his neck.

James nodded as well with an eyeroll. On the other hand, Maddox and I were confused. We didn't hear any drums being played because we were- oh shit...

"Why aren't you guys complaining?" Genesis asked drinking her coffee.

Maddox didn't register what might be happening right now in my head but I'm going bonkers with trying not to laugh.

A firm hand smacked down on the table causing the plates to rattle. We all looked to where the source came from— James... with a jaw that dropped to the floor.

Andddd he figured it out, great!

"They didn't hear it, because they were the ones that were drumming!" He abruptly stood causing the chair to fall back with an accusing finger pointed at Maddox and I.

"You two mated!" He said shamelessly as if a big ass pack of werewolves aren't in the same room with us. I know he's alpha but I question everything that goes through that man's head.

Genesis squealing caught my attention before she yanked me out of the chair and hugged the breath out of me.

Maddox got an encouraging slap on the back by James and Trent as they all laughed and teased him.

"Oh you guys are mated oh my goodness!" Her squealing continued as I awkwardly laughed.

This is my sex life we're talking about here.

She pulled away with a big smile, "I should've noticed, your scents are all over each other."

Everyone finally settled down and took our seats at the table and continued eating.

Looking at everyone laugh and talk like this makes me feel, I don't know, appreciated and loved.

Growing up I never really had that many friends, everyone kind of dwindled down as the years went by. Some actually just walked out of my life and I never really made an effort to talk to people anyways. But this, this is actually nice. Genesis is like a sister to me now, James and Trent a brother, the pack are like family even though they don't know me personally. The fact that all the people here would risk their life to protect each other is incredible.

Now that there is a lunatic out trying to kill Maddox and probably hurt the people he care about, I am going to make sure with all my heart that, that bastard doesn't get anywhere near my mate. I don't care if the effort kills me in the end. As long as he and my new big happy family are okay, then I'm okay.

Soon, afternoon came around. The guys were all in the office working out further plans while Genesis and I are just chilling basically. I, for one, don't know anything about forming a war plan and Genesis, well, she's a pro since her dad used to be the general of the warriors in her last pack.

So far we're both sitting on the couch watching a movie, eating junk food again which is really bad for me. I don't want to have to go on a diet again because that shit is exhausting.

"Hey," An anxious voice said from behind us.

Genesis and I turned around and met Theron and Veronica. Come to think of it, I haven't seen Veronica in a while. By the tone of her voice she may need help.
