Chapter 30

Caytlyn POV

What? Why would Jake lie about it? I go to my messages and find Jakes number. "Hey, meet me by my locker. Like now!" I send it and wait for a reply. I walked up to Cassie. "I'm gonna run to my locker real quick, I'll be back!" She nodded. I walked to my locker. As I walked up to my locker, Jake was already standing there staring at his phone. He looked up from his phone, "Hey! What's up?" He asked with a concerning look. "Why'd you lie to Tyler?" I questioned. "What?" "Do I have to repeat myself? Why did you lie to Tyler?" I said in a more stern voice. "I don't know what you're talking about." He replied quickly. "Oh, yes you do. Why'd you lie to him? We're not leaving this place until you tell me." He hesitated for a moment and then said, "I told Tyler I was going to ask out Cassie, but I didn't. I asked out Hannah instead." "Why?" I questioned. "Because I was afraid she was going to reject me, so I decided to go with the more desperate type. Someone who I know who would've said yes." I chuckled. "Awh! Jake has a crush!" I started singing. "Can you shut up?" He asked. "Why? You're never going to hear the end of this until you ask her out!" I winked.

Jake POV

"Can you shut up?" I asked. "Why? You're never going to hear the end of this until you ask her out!" She winked. She wouldn't stop singing the song after I repeatedly asked her to stop. I thought of a way to shut her up, and a way to get rid of Hannah. Hannah was walking down the hallway at the perfect time. I leaned into Caytlyn and her lips were soft. She tried to pull back, but I didn't let her. I knew Hannah saw me when she ran away crying. I finally pulled back when Caytlyn yelled, "What the hell, Jake?" "I'm so sorry, Caytlyn! I needed a way to get you to shut up and a way to get out of a relationship!" "You really do like Cassie, don't you?" "Yeah." I said while scratching my scalp.
