Car Ride

Chapter 15.

Charles POV

It's Caytlyn's first day of school. I'm nervous for her. It's her first day at a new school, and it's high school. She'll probably do great just like always. I go to her room and open up her blinds. "Wake up, lazy butt!" She pulls the sheets over her head. "C'mon! It's your first day of school! You should be excited!" I leave the room and go to the kitchen. I sneak up behind Alli. "Morning!" She jumps and puts her head on the counter. "You ok?" She shakes her head. "Nope." She hugs me and I kiss her on the head. "What's the matter?" She sighs. "I have a really bad headache." I pick her up and bring her to the couch. "Stay." I point to her and run back into our room. I grab a couple blankets, her 3DS with some games, and a pillow. I run back to Alli. "Dr. Trippy, reporting for service." I put the pillow behind Alli's head, and cover her with the blankets. "For entertainment." I say handing her the 3DS. "But, I have to take Cayt to school." She sits up and I push her down. "No, you don't. I shall take little Cayt-Face to school." "Char, you can't drive." I stand up. "So, Cayt can drive. Good practice for her." She sighs. "Keys are on the counter." I go to the counter and grab the keys. "Let's go Caytlyn!" She runs into the kitchen and trips. "Really?" I help her up. She grabs something to eat. We walk over to Alli and say goodbye. "Bye. Have a good day at school." Alli says hugging Caytlyn. I kiss Alli and she grabs my shirt. "Do not scratch my car." I smile and we leave.

Caytlyn POV

We go out to the garage. We hop in and Charles stares at the car. "Do you even remember how to drive a car?" He laughs. "Of course I do! I put the key here right?" He points at the windshield wiper switch. "No, you place it here." I showed him. "Oh, maybe I don't." He starts the car and we back out of the driveway. We start to drive down the road when Alli calls me. "Hello?" "Did he destroy my car yet?" "Nope. But he forgot to start it." Charles starts laughing. "Hmm. Well I'll be picking you up at 5 after volleyball." "Whatever. Bye." I hang up. "What did she want?" Charles said, turning up the music. "She said she's picking me up." "Why? She doesn't trust me picking you up?" He looks at me. "Dad! Watch it!" He nervously stops and I laugh. "What the hell was that for?!" I continue to laugh. He continues driving. "I did that to see if you're paying attention." I said still laughing. He became grouchy and mean. We pulled up to the school, and he didn't say a word. "Bye." He ignores me and I close the door. I walk up to the school building. Well, here goes nothing.
