The Game

Chapter 26

Caytlyn POV

I can't believe him! He's such an asshole! I run back to the gym, hoping he didn't see me. I go back over to Abbie and Claire without realizing I'm crying. "Caytlyn! What's wrong?!" They hug me and I sob into their shirts. After I calm down, I explain what happened. After I told them, they started to get mad. "Where the hell is this guy?! I want to punch him!" I shake my head. "What are you going to do?" I shrug. "I don't know, honestly." They give me a small smile and we walk back to class. After the day was over, I went to my locker to grab my bag. I open it and feel a pair of arms around my waist. "Hey Caytlyn." Tyler said. I ignore him and grab my bag. I slam my locker and remove his hands from my waist. I walk away not saying anything. "Caytlyn!" I heard him scream. I walk as fast as I can until I run into Claire. "You ignored him?" I nod. "Well he's following you." I shake my head. "I'll stop him. Go!" I go to the gym and Claire stops Tyler. I change into my volleyball uniform and walk out to the gym. "Caytlyn!" I look over at the other team. Oh shit. It's Sami. We're playing Tallahassee. Sami runs over to me and hugs me. "You didn't tell me you moved to Sarasota!" I smile slightly. "Sorry. Things have been.... Complicated recently." She sighs. "It's ok. I get it." I smile and she smiles back. "So, where are your parents? Aren't they coming to the game?" I shake my head. "They don't know about it." I lied. Straight to my best friends face. She nods. "My parents are here, so you can say hi afterwards." I nod. "Caytlyn!" I turn around and Tyler's there. He walks over. "Caytlyn, let me explain." I shake my head. "Tyler, you messed up. There's nothing to explain." He sighs. "I'll talk to you later Sami." She nods and goes back to her team. I stare at Tyler and walk back to my team. The game starts in five minutes, and I look at the stands. The Tallahassee side is full of people from my old school. Great. I look over at our side. Charles and Alli are sitting in the middle. They have grandma and grandpa Speed with them. They see me and smile. We walk over to our bench and the game starts. We're winning 1-0 after the first game. The announcer comes on. "Alright ladies and gentlemen! Tonight's parent night! We'd like all the Sarasota player's parents to come on down to the side court!" We walked over to the court and met up with our parents. I found Charles and Alli and they hugged me. "We're so proud of you Caytlyn!" "Thanks!" We end the hug and wait for my name to be called. About halfway through, were next. "Next is our youngest player on the team! Here's #7, Caytlyn Trippy with her parents Charles and Allison!" We walked down the court. Charles, of course, vlogging it. We get to the end and we get our picture taken. We walk off the court and they wait until they're dismissed. I look over at Sami and she's smiling. We finish the game and we won 3-0. After the game, I went over to Charles and Alli. "C'mon! I want you to meet someone!" They followed me over to Sami. "Sami, these are my parents. Mom and dad, this is Sami." Sami stands there with her mouth open. Charles and Alli laugh. I snap at Sami. "You didn't tell me that!" She says to me. "Because you didn't ask!" She shakes her head. "I'll be right back. I'll go get my parents!" She runs off. I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and face Tyler. "Caytlyn. I know you're mad at me. I didn't kiss her! She came and kissed me!" I shake my head. "Really? It didn't look that way when your tongue was down her throat." He shakes his head. "All that stuff she said in the cafeteria wasn't true. I had a football game last night. I wouldn't even dare step foot into her house!" I shake my head. "Caytlyn. I wouldn't hurt you like that. I don't even like Hannah. I love you." I look back at Charles and Alli. Charles looks at me and Alli looks like she's going to cry. "Look, I called you to the music hallway because I wanted to talk to you. I wanted to apologize for Hannah's selfishness. She found me there and started kissing me." I look back at him. "I wanted to give you this." He pulls a necklace out of his pocket. It's an infinity necklace with diamonds on it. I could hear Alli gasp from behind me. "Cayt?" I look at him. He pulls me into a hug and I let him. "Am I forgiven?" I look up at him. "Yes." He smiles and kisses me. I hear Charles and Alli awe behind me. I laugh and he does too. We stop hugging and I look at Charles and Alli. They're both smiling. "Stop, you're freaking me out." They laugh. "I gotta go to football. I'll talk to you later." I nod and he hands me the necklace. He leaves and I see Sami come over. "Ooh! Who's the guy?!" I smile. She laughs. She brings her parents over and they talk. After awhile we leave school. We get into the car, and Alli starts the car. "You know Cayt, we should invite your friend over sometime. What was her name, again?" I laugh. "Sami." She nods and we drive home. We get home and I look at my phone. I have a new message from Tyler. "We need to talk." I text him back. "What's up?" He responds back a few seconds later. "I'm moving."
