All the Tracy boys and their respective women sat around a blazing campfire. It had been a hard week on them all. Grandma Tracy had taken one good look at them and told them to take a vacation.

"Hey Scott, why are so over protective of us?" Alan asked, breaking the silence.

"What do you mean?" the eldest Tracy raised an eyebrow.

"You go all smother hen every time we get hurt or have a hard mission. Why is that?"

"I just feel....that I'm not doing enough. That I've failed you guys some how."

"Come on, Scotty. That's not true," Gordon chimed in.

"I've failed once."

Questioning looks met Scott's blue eyes.

"It was right after John was born. Me and Virgil were playing outside. Our toy bounced into the street and Virgil went to go get."

Scott took a deep breath, trying to steady himself.

"A guy on a bike raced around the corner just as Virgil stepped out into the street."

Everyone waited for what would come next.

"He hit Virgil full force, breaking 4 ribs and giving him a concussion. He was in the hospital for weeks, in a coma."

"Scott that wasn't your fault. I stepped out, I put myself in that place," Virgil said softly, wrapping his arms around his brother.

"Doesn't matter. I'm the oldest. I have to watch over you all, protect you guys." Scott glanced around the campfire, letting his eye drift to his wife.

"I'd do the same."
