Right after the humans enter we rush to the stairs, descending the steps cautiously but still pretty quick. We walk up to the humans and take a look at them. They were all around 13 or 14 and have a pretty good aura around them meaning they all are pretty good with magic.

Their names were Jack, Maria, William, Jay, and Amber. Jack had unruly and messy dirty blond hair, green eyes, and a slight tan. He seemed to be the noisiest of the group and the one with the sense of humor. Maria was Jack's older sister and she had the same color hair as Jack, but it was obviously longer, reaching down to her shoulder blades. Her skin was a bit lighter and she had a bit darker green eyes than Jack.

William had dark brown hair and his eyes were a light blue color. His skin tone was about the same as Jack's and he seemed to have a spark in him so I'm guessing he specialized in electricity. Also what kinda gave that fact away since his hair seemed to be standing up on its own and smelling a bit burnt. He was probably the one who be stupid enough to run into a labyrinth blindly thinking he could take it down by himself.

Jay had silky raven black hair and his eyes were as white as the moon except for the pupil. His skin was a bit lighter tone than the others and he also seemed to be the smartest out of them and the kindest despite him being covered up in bruises under the hoodie and baggy pants he wore.

And then last there was Amber whose hair was red and she had sky blue eyes. Her personality seemed to closely resemble Jack's but she was less excited and more anxious to be here.

"Oh good. Looks like your companions have come down to greet you," the queen says cheerfully and moves out of the way, "I'll let you choose who you want as you're familiar and then we can proceed to the 'Fun Deck'"

At the mention of the Deck, all of us animals gulp in fear but the others smile and get even more excited and I can tell that all of the animals in the room had the same thought at the same time.

You guys have been fooled by the name...

Jack, of course, is the first one to move up to us and take a pick out of us to be his "familiar" as Queen Esmeralda called it but I think companion or partner would be a better word for this. When he looks at me he immediately has a look of fear and disgust and walks away to Nig.

"I'll take the cat!" he exclaims and pats Nig on the head.

Next Maria and William walk up, Amber close behind. Not one of them passed by me without giving me a look of hate, disgust, fear, disappointment, or anger. Maria picked Skylar and perched her on her shoulder cheerfully while William brushed his hand on Luna's head and back, leaving Amber with Albert, who jumped onto Amber's head making her laugh.

"I guess I couldn't have expected any other result," I mutter and the Queen gives me a look of apology and tried to cheer me up but I shrug and laugh it off when the other animals try to come over and comfort me.

Jay finally makes his way to us and he looks at me. I'm surprised to see that he didn't have any look of negativity but instead one of sympathy, almost as if he's been through what I have. He stretches out a hand and I rub my cheek against it cheerfully.

"Alright, then you 10. Now that you have been acquainted with each other and chosen your partners I will cast a lifelong spell that will allow you to communicate since none of the five children can actually speak in animal tongue," the Queen announces before muttering something short.

"That was a wide ranged animal to human translate spell wasn't it?" Nig asks and Jack laughed before picking Nig up.

"Yup. I can understand you perfectly now," he laughed.

"By the way where are our rooms?" William asks and the Queen smiles as she points up.

"Are you saying there's a fourth floor now?" Skylar asks in surprise but the Queen laughs and shakes her head.

"No you silly bird. Each of your humans will live in the same room as their animals! Why do you think that it's also fit and accustomed to humans as well?" she says and that makes me roll my eyes.

I never expected the queen to be this kind and generous and then a question pops up in my head.

"Then what about you? Where will you sleep, your majesty?" I ask quickly and the children besides Jay look at me in confusion.

"Oh, this is just one of my extra rooms. It's more fit for 5 people and animals than just little old me. And please do drop the formalities when outside of the public. You can call me Esmer when we are not in the view of any other citizens," she replied and walks over to the door with a small chuckle, "Anyway I expect all of you at the 'Fun Deck' at sundown," and then all of the animals groan in protest before the Queen leaves and shuts the door.

"Ugh...well then. I suppose introductions are first? We still have 5 hours before sundown." Albert says and we all shrug and nod before heading up to the second floor where the transparent floor was since we normally spoke to each other there.

After one hour we decided would be spent giving our partners a tour of their rooms and accommodations, we decide it's best to do our introductions now to blow off some steam because the other children were jealous when they found out that I had the biggest room out of all of the others meaning Jay got it as well.

"Alright alright let's just get past the fact that Jay has the biggest room already. You guys don't even know our names let alone our powers" Skylar urges and I stifle a laugh.

"We already know the powers of that wolfdog though. He has none! SO why is he even here?" Amber whines and I feel like I just got stabbed.

So what if I'm part wolf? So what if I don't have magic? It's not like I came here because I wanted to, idiot. I think harshly and sadly but I sit down with the group anyway but I don't look at anyone in the eyes.

"Hey isn't that a bit harsh? You haven't even seen his other skills!" Albert says, trying to stick up for me but I shake my head hoping he stops it.

I'm partially glad Jack, Maria, William, and Jay didn't speak up because that would've just been more trouble. After that Amber stays quiet but I know she is staring at me while thinking that I shouldn't be here and that I'm useless.

We quickly get our introductions done and out of the way and I walk over to the wide window and stare outside at Lighttran while the others talked. Jay, however, came over to me and sat down next to me, brushing my back to comfort me.

"Hey don't be so down Sylvester. I'm sure the others of the Five will like you soon," he says and I sigh.

"Maybe, maybe not," I say and then I look at the sun, "C'mon. It's almost sundown."

"What? But the sun is still so high!" he exclaimed.

"Don't be stupid, idiot," I say with a laugh before running down the stairs and out the door with Jay close behind me.
