We rush back to the city after hearing the explosion and we see the area near the Queen's new chamber that she is staying in after giving the one we were staying in, to us. We didn't spend any time thinking about it but instead kept running to the palace.
"How did the explosion happen!?" Luna yells while taking an Icari seed and jumping into the air.
"Yeah the only ones that can get in are those with authorization like us," Jay says and follows Luna with his wings.
"I have no idea. But it could only have been someone on the inside," I say and run through the mob of citizens who were running away.
"But who? It couldn't have been any of the Five especially us," Skylar asks and we stay silent for the rest of the run back trying to figure out an answer to that question.
When we get to the palace's magic barrier we think our passwords just as we run into it letting us go straight through. We run to the nearest palace teleport pad which was in the West Archer Tower and we use it to go straight to the queen's new chamber.
Her chamber is blazing and there is fire everywhere. The palace mages are doing everything they can to put out the fires with water magic but it's not working. With the panic that the scene causes the Icari seeds wear off and the wings on Luna and Jay's back faster than it did when we were flying out on the border of the city.
"Where's the Queen?" Luna asks the nearest mage.
"We have no idea. The last she was seen was in her chambers," he replies and goes back to summoning water.
While we got the reply the fire gets worse and I can see a small bit of green fire in the center of all of it.
"There's griffin fire in there," I say and I try to remember something I read about it.
"What's griffin fire?" Jay asks and also helps in putting the fire with some low-level water spells.
"It's fire from a griffin. Although they are extremely rare there are some griffins that can breath green fire and that fire is very explosive and non-extinguishable. The normal colored flames are also non-extinguishable but there is one thing that can extinguish the flames. I can't remember exactly though since I didn't read too much about it," Skylar explains and I groan.
"What? What is it, Sylvester?" Luna asks in a hurry and I sigh before answering.
"The one thing that can extinguish griffin fire is griffin tears. And we have to get the tears from a griffin that has griffin fire and there's no telling how long that will take,"
"Wait. I think I saw some in the palace nursery," Jay says and starts to run back to the teleport pad.
"Alright Jack, you get the tears, Luna you try to help move the debris with your telekinesis and Skylar you focus on doing whatever you can to help slow the flames down," I say quickly before running towards the flaming room.
"Wait what are you going to do!?" Luna asks while Skylar throws in some storm sand in the fire, creating a storm cloud and rain.
"I'm going into the room and get the queen out myself," I reply before heading in and rushing pass the falling columns of debris and fire before Luna has any time to say something.
I barely manage to get through all of the flames untouched and to the queen. She lay unconscious on the floor under a support beam that was on fire. I pull her out with my mouth just before her clothes set on fire and I set her on my back before trying to find a way back out of the hot dehydrating flames.
Just before I decide to take the dangerous route I took in Luna lifts the debris in front of me and makes a path for us to get out but I could tell she couldn't hold it for long. I start running in the path and avoiding the occasional flames and debris that fell on top of us.
When I get halfway through Luna loses her mental grip and the flaming material comes crashing down and I start to run even faster but I only manage to throw the queen out of the room before my hind legs and tail and crushed by the debris and before I fall unconscious I see a white pocket-sized dragon with a sly smile flying away from the situation with five small pearls.
