As soon as the black abyss began I snapped out of my sleep and I woke up seeing Luna asleep by his bedside in the palace nursery and I sit up and realized that, as my father told me, any injuries I thought I should have had were healed.

The area that the flaming debris landed on me was still a bit sore though and it didn't feel natural but before I jump out of the bed, a magic crystal rings out and startles me. I look around and then notice it's the one on the desk right next to my bed.

I poke the crystal with my nose and then a hologram of the Queen's most skilled mage popped out and startled Luna awake but I don't turn to face her although she was probably a bit embarrassed she fell asleep in such an odd place.

"Ah, Sylvester. Great to see that you are awake," he said and acknowledged Luna.

"Is the Queen ok?" I ask immediately.

"Yes. She is in rehab and has been healing quite well with the healing magic we are giving her. Little to say you're healing capabilities were far quicker and nearly unexplainable. It has only been 2 days when your injuries should have taken at least a month to heal," the mage says suspiciously but I don't show any emotion.

"It's really been only 2 days?" I ask and shake up my pelt before stretching.

"Yes. But there is bad news as well. The Five are missing," he says briefly and Luna and I both perk our ears and start worrying about our partners.

"Are you sure? They aren't anywhere in Lighttran?" Luna asks just to be sure and unfortunately, he nods.

"What about the other animals? Are they still here?" I ask and again the mage shakes his head.

"The only ones connected to the Five in any way are you two and Skylar. I would think that Skylar would be here but I also suspect that she is currently trying all she can to try and scry for your friends," he explains and I nod.

"Alright then...what type of scrying is she using?" I ask and hope that there is still a chance.

"The strongest of course. Silver dust with a scrying globe," he replies and I curse under my breath, "Wait if our partners are gone what about the fire?"

"Are there any leads to where they could be?" Luna asks and receives another sad shake of the palace mage's head.

"I think I may know a way...but I need to know where Skylar is. We can't risk being separated anymore considering the current situation," I say.

"For now the fire is being contained in a bubble spell that is fire resistant and should last until a week from now. And Madam Skylar is in the royal palace library. Second, only to the library you know best wolfdog," he replies and I notice that he didn't say "wolfdog" in any manner of negativity but in respect.

"Then that's where we will be going. At least for now. Also, what's your name? We might need it to communicate with you later," Luna exclaims and starts to head for the door.

"Michael. The Queen's personal mage," he replies and we nod before rushing out of the room and running to the library.

When we get there I immediately see Skylar due to the towering books that stood on the desks and scattered scrying ingredients. Luna walks over to her first and comforts Skylar while I look around the library. I know there was a certain book where I read this from but it was in Starhaven's great library.

Fortunately, I find the shelf long series of encyclopedia-sized books and I stand on my hind legs to see the titles better. I take out volume after volume and I read through the first 23 volumes before I get to what I needed in the 24th volume and I quickly grab it in my mouth and run over to the desk the others were at.

"What's that Sylvester? If it's another scrying spell it won't work...I've tried them all," Skylar says in a voice that's almost given up.

"We'll find them. I know we will. Sylvester must have some way of doing it," Luna says gently to comfort the poor blue jay.

"I do. As a matter of fact, Nig and I have marks on each other," I reply and quickly read through the spell requirements.

"Oh, bleeding moons that's smart!" Skylar says, voice full of hope again.

"All we need is a few simple and common ingredients which I hope you have," I reply and she nods after reading the ingredient list.

"Wait I'm confused what's going on?" Luna asks.

"Nig and I found this little spell while we were reading and it's basically where you can mark someone with an invisible and undetectable imprint and that person or animal can do the same to you. In doing so we kinda form an empathy link but it can only be activated with magic but we thought we should still do it just in case," I explain quickly and I hear Skylar mutter the last of the spell.

"And how right you are to have made it," Skylar says and I smile.

"Alright, so what does that mean? You're like a Nig-tracker device now?" she asks and I laugh.

"Sure whatever floats your boat. Now come on! I know exactly what path he took from since two days ago. If we follow the small trail of blue dust that follows after the glowing imprints of his footprints then we can find him. But first gather supplies and anything helpful. Humans won't be of much help to us now considering the attack on the Queen," I say hurriedly and we rush out of the library, teleporting straight back to our rooms to prepare for the journey ahead.
