After the swirl of silvery dust created by the telepearls shed away we found ourselves in our room inside the palace. We finding ourselves apparently includes us finding Skylar flying around giggling giddily. Out of all the side effects of telepearls I was amazed to see Skylar with high mode.
"Huh...ok then...Luna get Michael on call we're gonna need him if we are gonna do this quick. Tell him to come into our room and look after Skylar while gathering the necessary herbs from the queen's garden. After you're done come with me. We going to find that bracelet," I instruct quickly.
She nods and darts up into her room. I never really thought of myself as a leader but here I am.
So...you must be expecting some cheesy line or plot like, "We're here! And going to save the day and our friends!". Nope. None of that. Sorry to disappoint. Right after we smashed the telepearl and got to Starhaven, we quite literally got our faces smashed into by a rogue helecar chase. Also, I should probably mention that helecars are basically cars propelled by magic and float.
Anyways, after having that happen we started the long walk to the library of Starhaven since the telepearl brought us to the edge of the city's perimeter. Oh and guess what? Boom. My main dog right here to greet us! Metal.
I quickly try to turn and avoid that snarling (and frankly ugly) face and focus on the task at hand. Thankfully he didn't notice my scent and he walked away without a sound. To be honest I wanted to smack him in the face and tell him all the insults I made in my head but what can you do when the world's fate is in your paws.
After taking the multitude of shortcuts through the city and almost losing Skylar three times, we arrived at the front steps of the library where the altar which the city was named after stood.
"Will someone PLEASE tell me what in the 5 moons sake we are doing?" Skylar asked, being a little overdramatic.
"Well in the Tomes of Izeroth it states that with two animals of great importance to the fate and/or a prophecy foretold by the stars have the magical power to summon the Crystal Tower from anywhere," Luna replied simply.
"But that is only speculation. See, the Tomes are very old but even they lost some secrets to the mystical buildings Izeroth built. What is known for sure is that a dog from Soara who has mastered one or at least learned three different types of mind magics can summon the Tower from the Starhaven Altar," I added for a better understanding of why we're here.
"And NOW you tell me? After hours of flying?" Skylar asked while catching her breath on my shoulder.
"Yup!" Luna and I say simultaneously, "Now come on! No time to lose!"
*~*~*~*~*
Luna and Skylar spent another hour gathering supplies while I began drawing the complex and enormous magic circle from spare mercury and primal hercual, the main components used to build a magic circle and sacrifice for necromantic arts since it contains the largest source of latent magic.
By the time they got back I had finished and was trying to clean the liquids off of my paws. And I know what you're thinking. How can a wolfdog with PAWS be able to construct and draw magic circles? Excuse me I've drawn and written my entire life! Just cuz I'm a wolfdog doesn't mean I can't learn things. Which I'm sure I established a long time ago.
Okay, I'm talking too much. Anyway! Back to before I lost myself to my sass, Luna and Skylar got back with their satchels filled with supplies and a bag of some more for my satchel.
"Alright Luna get ready to do the thing," I say cheerfully, in a good mood since well I'm home!
"The thing?" she queries sarcastically.
"Yes, the thing! I'm calling it the thing cuz I can," I reply with a laugh.
"Yeah, I agree. Do the thing!" Skylar said while helping me place some supplies into my satchel.
"Fine, I'll go do the thing. How much more time do we have?" Luna asks.
"I think we have two or three days left. We had a week. And I wasted 4 days. So today would make either the end of the fourth day or the end of the fifth one," I replied gloomily.
"It's alright Sylvester. It's not your fault. Not at all. In fact, you're the one who came up with all those brilliant ideas!" Skylar said encouragingly.
"You have no idea how cheesy that sounds but thanks," I joke and get a slap on the nose from her wing and a laugh.
"Leave it to you to ruin a heartfelt moment," Luna jokes and begins the incantation for the summoning.
