It was a brand new morning in National City. A loud ringing broke the silence of Kara's loft, Kara wasn't long asleep though, she was just watching the ceiling for past 2 hours as it was something interesting. It definitely was not, but Kara couldn't notice, because she was lost deep in her thoughts, where her white ceiling haven't had any place. She gently turned the alarm off and rolled to fall on her bed, again sighing about the new day of work. She certainly missed it, yes, but she wasn't quite ready to face Snapper and his stupid, permanent annoyance, moodiness and grumbling about the blond and her hair.

She lazily rolled off the bed and walked in the kitchen, where she made herself a cup of morning coffee and some oat mash. The room felt cold and sad and that wasn't adding any good to her, she was already feeling like the loneliest person ever. She sat down at the island and started to read some newspaper articles to catch up her few days off. Apparently J'onn sacrificed himself too and put a skirt on. She has to thank him later.

When she was done with her breakfast, she grabbed the very first clothes she saw. It was plain white shirt with a green-ish sweater she put on top of it and tugged it in a dark blue skirt. Then she brushed her teeth and put her hair in fancy half up, letting golden locks fall on her back. She took one last glare into mirror and quite satisfied she left her apartment.

Kara decided to stop at James' office first, not just because she wanted to see him, but also because she wanted to delay the time before she sees her boss.

"Hi, James." she said when she walked through the door at Ms. Grant's former office. James was sitting behind his desk, already working. He didn't look surprised when he raised his head, more pleasured maybe?

"Hey, Kara. Good to have you back. You look really good today, by the way." And she really did. She didn't know why, but she had some urge to look good today..and tomorrow..and the day after tomorrow. Did she wanted to make Lena jealous?

"Yeah, thanks James. For everything. Unfortunately, I gotta pay a visit to Snapper now, so see you later."

"Right, good luck with that, he doesn't look very..neighbourly today."

"Uh, James? Do you know who Snapper is? He never looks neighbourly." she said with serious tone, but laughed. It warmed James' heart. He was glad, that she could smile and laugh like that. Like she always used to. He haven't heard the whole story, but he talked to Alex, when Kara was MIA and she mentioned that a the time, she felt in Kara's presence even worse than while Kara was red kryptonite-poisened.

"Oh, yeah. That's about right." he laughed too. The truth is, he still had a quite big crush on her and it did suck that he haven't got the chance to tell her and he probably never will, now when she dates women. He wanted to kiss her so badly sometimes, he did once, but unfortunately he couldn't remember a half of it. Fuck the myriad.

"See you later, James." she gave him one of her smiles everyone loved so much and then disappeared from his vision.

"See you later." he answered, but a but late, because he was too busy with staring at her..and her butt.

"Ponytail."

God, she just walked into the room and he already made her so angry . What about some manners, huh?

"Good morning to you too, boss." she took a glance at the score board, that is always hanging in Snapper's office. Her name wasn't even there. Great.
