I wake up the next day and get dressed for school before heading downstairs. I see my mum walking past the staircase.

"Still at it, mother?" I hear Cheryl say. "I thought you'd be tired of taking dirty wads of cash from strangers by now."

I head down into the hallway and stand behind my mother as she turns to Cheryl and says, "you have no right to judge me. Not after you and your sister drove away the one chance I had at a better life."

"You mean with Hal Cooper?" I say, finely joining in the conversation. They both turn around and look at me as I walk over and stand by Cheryl who snickers.

"If that's your idea of love" my older sister says. She pushes past my mother but my mother grans her arm.

"What would you know about it? You've never known love, Cheryl, except to rip it apart. Because you are a jealous, spite filled, starving, emotional anorexic" my mother spits in Cheryl's face. Cheryl suddenly looks like she is about to cry.

"Mother!" I snap. She turns to face me.

"Your no better, Amelia. You've drowned yourself in your emotions and have become this depressed sorry excuse of a daughter." My mother tells me. I feel tears in my own eyes and hatred for my mother fills me. I walk up to Cheryl and take her hand for emotional support.

Our mother puts her finger underneath Cheryl's chin and says, "have a nice day at school, dears." Before storming past us.

I look up at my older sister who is so close to tears. I can feel my own tears rolling down my checks. Cheryl puts her arms around me and pulls me in for a hug.

Me and Kevin are stood by his locker. I'm doing anything to forget about about the conversation with my mother.

"Have you got any plans this weekend kev?" I ask him.

"I was thinking about asking Moose out to see the new movie, love, Simon." He tells me.

"Well nows your chance." I say pointing over to Moose.

"I'll Tell you how it goes later," Kevin says shutting his locker and walking over to Moose.

I go to the student lounge and sit in my usual spot.
I listen in on the conversation that Veronica Lodge is having with her friends, while I absentmindedly play with my phone.

"Fair warning, our shadow lake chalet is rustic, but it has breathtaking views of the Mountain, the water," the raven haired girl is saying.

"Oh my god. That sounds heavenly, V." Says Betty Cooper. "What do you say Jug? Can you bear it?"

"As long as it's cool with your dad." Jughead says.

"Mr Lodge actually suggested it." Says Archie Andrews.

"Well then que the duelling banjos." Jughead says "what? It'll be a good chance for me to work on my novel."

"Excellent. But remember, the point I of this luxury weekend is to relax and unplug."

Just then my older sister walks in and joins the conversation.
"Luxury and weekend. Two of my favourite words." She says "so, where are we going and how extravagant a wardrobe should I pack?"
