Abby’s Point of View

          Shane better hurry up. I look like a complete loner right now, all because Emily had to drag him away to meet some of Todd’s relatives. So now I’m standing all alone in the reception hall.

          I have to admit, when I saw Shane today, my mouth almost dropped open. He looked absolutely handsome. Never did I ever think I would see Shane Wilson in a tuxedo.

          “Hello there beautiful.” A deep voice said behind me. I slowly turned around to see a tall guy, most likely around my age, with a slight tan, and a very athletic body. His blue eye made me feel like i was swimming in the ocean, and I was tempted to run my finger thorough his curly brown hair.

          “Um hi.” I replied, self consciously running my finger through my bangs. “I’m Luke you must be an Angle?”  He said trying to sound seductive. I let out a little laugh. “Very close. I’m Abby.”

          “So how old are you Abby?” Luke asked, sipping what looked like wine. “I’m 16. I’ll be 17 in February.” Me and Shane birthdays are right by each other, mine is the 8th of February, and his is the 15th.  Only Shane’s an entire year older.

          “I’m 19, a freshman at A&M University.” He replied, Luke had one of the cutest smiles I’ve ever seen.  Me and Luke talked for what felt like hours. I found out we have a lot in common. We both love the band Framing Hanley.  We both absolutely hate any kind of sea food. And we both want to go to Russia someday.

          “May I have this dance, Abby?” Luke asked, his smile growing even bigger. “Sure.” I said. When then joined everyone on the dance floor. Luke wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me as close as possible to him.

          When I saw Shane, I shot him a big smile, and a thumps up. But he just stayed emotionless, and walked outside. Note to self, figure out what’s bothering Shane.

          When the song ended, Luke spoke. “So I was thinking I could take you out Saturday night. On a date.” I felt my heart speed up. This would be my first date, Ever. Not that Luke should know that. “That sounds great.” I replied. “Meet me at Reed’s at 7.” He said. He gave me a kiss on the cheek, winked, and then walked away.

          I can’t believe it; I have a date with a college guy! Who is extremely cute! He might just be my first boyfriend! I can’t wait to tell Annie and Jenna!

          But I can’t. After the whole Jenna cheating on her boyfriend with Annie’s fiasco they haven’t been talking, and trying to force me to pick sides. And Jenna decided to be the school slu*t, and Annie always is “Busy”.

          So really all I have is Shane. Don’t get me wrong he is amazing, and I care so much about him. But it feels weird to be losing my 2 best friends.

          As long as I have Shane, I know I’ll be alright. There’s something about Shane, something I haven’t figured out yet, that makes me feel like the luckiest and safest girl in the world.
