Forever Alone?

“And there was candles and rose petals all over the place! It was so romantic. He was even able to get us a bottle of wine! But only because his step mother’s parents owned the place.” Abby’s been droning on and on for what felt like hours, about how wonderful her date with Luke, the college man was.
It was weird, I was completely jealous of Luke for winning over Abby. But I didn’t have to fake a smile when she talked about him. It was nice and refreshing to see her so happy.
“He even had a silver Ferrari!” Abby said, bringing me out of my daze. “He was such a gentleman. Well except for when he dropped me off back home. We started making out in his car, and he got a little…handsey.”
“He touched you?” I asked, clenching my fist and gritting my teeth. “Well no, but he was way too close for comfort. I escaped before things got out of hand.” Abby answered. Abby looked so beautiful, well she always does. But today she wore her hair natural, and her sundress really brought out her eyes.
“I’m going to his house Saturday, were going to watch The Exorcist.” Abby added. “Do you really think that a good idea? Going to his house after he practically mauled you in his car.” I pointed out. “One, he did not maul me in his car.” Abby said, rolling her eyes. “And two, I’m a big girl, I can take care of myself.”
“I know, I know.” I muttered, lying down on my bed. Out of know where, Abby cuddled up next to me. I slowly turned to my side, and genteelly kissed her.
“Sh-Shane…I..” Abby stuttered.
“Abby, I’m falling hard for you. You are one of the funniest and beautifulest girls I have ever met.” Abby just stared at me, her eyes growing bigger by the second. I had thrown myself out in the middle of the ocean, and I would either be saved, or I would drown.
“I… I like you too. A lot.” Abby whispered. We both just laid there, staring into each other’s eyes. “What does this mean? For us?” Abby asked. “I was hoping you would be my girl.” I grinned. I cupped her face in my hand, waiting for an answer. She then brushed her lip over mine. “Is that a yes?” I asked. “Of course.” Abby replied smiling.
“Can I spend the night?” Abby asked her eyes gleaming. “ How could I possibly say no to the beautifulest girl in the world.” I replied. I then walked to my dresser, and tossed her one of my t’s and a pair of basketball shorts. “I’ll leave you to change.” I told her, pecking her on the check, and grabbing my pajama pants.
When I went back into my room, Abby was laying under my sheets waiting for me to join her. I quickly sprinted, and jumped under the covers. I interlocked her hand with mine. “Looks like I have a date to cancel.” Abby murmured, kissing me. She tasted like bubble gum. “Sure do.” I chuckled.
We quickly fell asleep in each other arms. I have to say that was one of the best nights in my life. I got Abby, and I couldn’t ask for more. How lucky was I to have Abby, not only as one of my best friend, but my girlfriend also. I could fly to the moon and back right now.
