Forever Alone?
Sixteen
Shane's Point of View
“Hurry up ladies, its show time!” I yelled, pounding on the door. Emily and all of her bridesmaids were giggling so loud, I doubt the even heard me. I turned away, and quickly ran my fingers through my hair.
All of the sudden the door busted open, and all the bridesmaids, walked past me and to the church door, in the short purple dresses. Then Emily can out, in her wedding dress that was all decked out with flowers all over it, and her little silver tiara. “You look beautiful.” I said, kissing her on the cheek. She looked like a model straight of a runway. It was weird to think, my sister was about to get married. “I’m scared, what if Todd changes his mind?” Emily mumbled.
“He’d be crazy to do something so stupid.” I replied, walking her to the back to the line, of all 7 of her bridesmaids.
I will always remember that moment, handing away my only sister, the only family I have left, away to someone I hardly know. But I could tell by the look in Todd’s and Emily’s eyes, that they loved each other, and what they had was real.
The ceremony felt like it last for hours. And by the end of it I felt like I was going to pee my pants.
The reception was held in this huge room that they turned into something that looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale.
And then I saw her, Abby walked up to me, looking like a princess. I mean she looks absolutely stunning. My mouth fell open, and I would be surprised if I was drooling. “Hey there.” Abby said, hugging me. I quickly closed my mouth. “You look really amazing.” I said to her. Abby started to blush, but before she could say anything, Todd and Emily stepped through the entrance, and everyone was cheering.
After the two of them finished there first dance, everyone joined them on the dance floor. “You want to dance?” I asked Abby, extending my hand to her. She nodded her head, took my hand, and I lead her to the dance floor.
Right as we started dancing, a slow song came on. I raised my eye brows at Abby, and wrapped my arms around her waist. She hesitated for a minutes, and then wrapped her arms around my neck. We swayed to the music, and she rested her head on my shoulder. I’m sure the people watching thought we were a couple. And when the song ended, and a fast song came on after, I was genuinely disappointed. But we continued dancing with each other, keeping it G rated.
Emily dragged me away, introducing me to Todd’s parents. When I turned around to see were Abby was, I saw some punk hitting on her. I could feel my anger boiling up in me.
I was about to storm over and punch the guy, when it hit me. I was very much falling for Abby.
But how is that even possible? She’s one of my best friends. And I mean I’m not the type of guy to actually date girl, and having real feeling for one.
But here I am falling for Abby. I wanted her to be mine, and only mine.
