Forever Alone?

Twenty Four

Abby’s Point of View

My knees slammed into the schools garden, and I tripped on a tree root. I could already tell my make up was smeared all over my face. I realized I still had the roses Shane gave me clutched in my hands, and I threw them I far away from me as I could.

My heart felt like it was going to shrivel up, then expand as if it was about to explode, but go back to normal size, and break into a million pieces. I pulled my legs under my chin, and let myself sob.

How could Shane do this to me? After everything we’ve been through since the day we meet? After having me fall so hard for him?

I clamped my eyes shut, trying to block it all out. But Shane and Lola kissing burned through my mind. Maybe he did it because Lola’s so much prettier than me. And she’d have sex with him anywhere and everywhere.

“Abby.” Someone said, wrapping there arms around me. I slowly looked up and saw Shane’s beautiful brown eyes. “Don’t touch me.” I spat to him, removing him arms off me. “Just let me-“ I cut him off. “You have Lola’s lip stick on your neck.”

He quickly rubbed it off with his hand. I let my head drop as a fresh set of tears streamed down my cheeks. “Just let me explain.” Shane replied. “I’m pretty sure the situation explains itself.” I pointed out, my voice cracking. “No it doesn’t, just listen to my side of the story!” He exclaimed.

“I can’t do this anymore.” I muttered. “Do what?” Shane replied. But I could tell by the look in his eyes, he already knew what I was getting at. “This relationship, I just can’t do it anymore. I’m sorry Shane, but I’m done.” I quivered.

I stood up and slowly made my way to the schools front entrance. “Please Abby!” Shane pleaded grabbing onto my wrist. I felt tears steam down my face. “Goodbye Shane.” And I pulled myself out of his grip.

When I got to the front of the school, I let myself fall to the curb. I then pulled out my cell phone.

          “Mom?” I whimpered.

“Shouldn’t you be in class sweetheart?” My mom replied on the other line.

“I don’t feel so good. Can you please come pick me up?” I could hear the begging in my voice.

“Sure honey, I’ll be there soon.” She assured, and then clicked off the line.

The next ten minutes waiting for my mom was agonizing. A bunch of freshmen walked past me laughing, one of them Jenna’s little sister. And the images of Shane and Lola kept soaring in my head.

Finally my mom’s beat up van appeared before me, and I quickly jumped in. “So what’s wrong Abby? I know you’re not sick.” My mom said, pulling out of the school. “I really don’t want to talk about it.” I whispered. “Then immediately the tears made a reappearance. My mom turned into a gas station, and then hugged me. “Shane cheated on me! And then we broke up!” I wailed. “Oh honey.” My mom said comforting me, how I love my mother.

Got to say, I loved this chapter. –Dayna(:
