This confirmed everything now. Sera wasn't lying at all. Jennie wanted to call it in, but what would she say? A dead girl broke free of her coffin and crawled out of it? Yeah the department would just laugh at her.

"Can I check something?" Jennie asked Sera.

"I guess so." Sera said as Jennie reached for her hand. She felt for a pulse. There was a strong one beating at her fingertips. "You're alive."

Sera took her hand back. "I'm not sure how."

Jennie asked, "Would you go to the ER with me and get fully checked out?"

This seemed rushed, but Sera wanted answers too. "All I've got is time."

Together they went to the nearest hospital. The wait time was ridiculous over two hours of sitting in the waiting room with at least fifteen other people.

The doctor saw her, ran blood work and even sent her to get CT scan.

Sera was worried with impatience as she waited on the bed in room 604.

Jennie paced, thinking of all the questions the doctor might ask her.

Half an hour later the doctor came to talk to them. "Hello." Doctor Gambel said to them. "I've looked over everything, Sera." He said directly to her. "You're a very healthy young woman. There's nothing wrong with you."

Sera wanted to ask how was she alive? She chose not to though.

He turned to Jennie, "We're gonna keep her for the next few hours just to make sure all is well. We'll release her in the morning." He then left the room and the heavy door slowly shut behind him.

"I don't understand this." Sera said as Jennie pulled a chair up and sat beside the bed. "I freaking crawled out of my own grave. You saw the mess. I'm freaked out cause I'm a freak somehow."

Jennie shook her head. "You're not a freak. Something or someone must've helped resurrect you."

"Like what or who?" Sera asked, knowing Jennie had no clue. Who would go out of their way to bring her back to life and why? Sera covered her hands over her face and thought deeply.

It was highly unlikely that it was her parents. Doubtful that her older brother, Shawn, had anything to do with this either. Then a possibilty hit her. Her mother's mother always wore odd stones around her neck and on her rings. She remembered Granna's home and how she loved crystals and home remedies. Had one of those home made remedies brought her back somehow?

"Can I make a phone call?" Sera asked Jennie.

"Sure, but who are you calling?" Jennie asked handing over her phone.

Sera smiled, "My Granna." Her memory was getting better by the hour. She put in the numbers to the grandmother from Greece. Granna now lived in California.

After a few rings Granna Cora answered. "Hello?"

"Hi, Granna, it's Sera." She said, hearing a gasp and heard the phone hit the floor. Luckily Granna's phone didn't break. Sera heard the woman sobbing. "Granna? Please talk to me."

Sera heard her grandmother speaking in Greek, which she barely understood. "English, please."

"You're alive? How is it so?" Granna said, sniffling into the phone.

"Honestly I was hoping you had some answers for me." Sera said to her. "No one knows I'm alive. Just the police officer that's helping me and you."

Granna was quiet for a good minute before saying, "Trust no one, Sera. I'm serious, dear, trust no one." "I must go." She said and the line was hung up.

Sera slowly handed the phone back to Jennie. She swallowed thickly and asked, "Can I trust you? Look me in my eyes and tell me, please." A thought crossed her mind. Even a snake can look you in the eyes and lie to you.

Jennie made direct eye contact with Sera. "Yes, I swear on my whole family." She sighed and asked, "What's your grandmothers name?"

"Cora." Sera answered and laid back. "She told me to trust no one. No one."

Jennie patted her arm. "Hopefully you can at least trust me."

Sera nodded her head. She thought to herself, We'll see . . . "I really want to see my parents."

"It's not a good idea." Jennie said. "There's no telling what they would say or do if they saw you."
