Aiden Crowe sipped on his Fanta Orange soda and pondered life after death. He had been into this fantasy of warlocks and witches since he was a pre-teen. Interest sparked after watching cult classic The Craft with his twin sister Angelle.
He tossed aside The Goblet of Fire from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. He'd read it over fifty times and it was his personal favorite of the bunch. He walked from his bedroom to the living room and sat down. The t.v. was on, but Angelle wasn't watching it. He turned it on an animated show.
"Hey, give me the remote." Angelle said coming into the room with a bowl of popcorn and a coke.
"Only if we can watch something cool." He said and tossed it to her as she sat on the floor.
Aiden suddenly said, "Do you ever think of dying?" and stared at the dark gray carpet.
Angelle turned and stared at him. "Uh, sometimes, why?"
Aiden shrugged, slouched more and said, "I can't stop thinking of Sera."
Angelle got up and went to sit beside him. "You need to talk to me? Or someone else?"

His left hand clapsed his green stone that hung around his neck. "Sometimes I dream that she's alive. That I brought her back from the other side."
Angelle laughed. "Wow. Just how did you bring her back in your dream?"
A very serious look came to his face. He held the stone up. "With this, Ange. I don't really know it just has something to do with this stone."
Angelle took it with her fingers and examined it. "What kind of stone is it?"
"I honestly don't know. I found it at a yardsale a few months before Sera passed. Some young girl sold it to me. She looked relieved to be rid of it."
Angelle dropped it from her fingers. "Take it off, Aiden. It could be cursed." She warned him. She too believed in the occult and so much more. "Seriously, take it off."
Aiden got up, "Fine." He said and went to his bedroom. He took the necklace off and put it inside a black sock, rolled it up and tucked in a bottom dresser drawer.

Mrs. Reylen had brought home coffee and pastries from a local bakery. Sera loved the smell of coffee and happily took hers from her.
"Has anything changed?" Reylen asked as Sera sat down.
Sera sat her cup down. "Honestly, something did happen." A wash of concern came to Jen's face as she sat across from Sera. "I ordered pizza and the pizza guy just happened to be an ex of mine."
Sera's little voice repeated in her head. Trust no one!
"Memories came crashing back when I was talking to him." Sera sighed and sipped her drink. "We agreed to talk more soon. I know it's risky, but I need to know more about myself."
Jen shook her head then locked her eyes with Sera's. "Right, this is risky."
"I keep thinking I need to talk to my parents." Sera brought up. "I need to find them. Maybe they know something that I don't." She looked fed up. "I'm alive for a reason and I want to figure it out. William saw what happened to me too."
Jen sat up, "Wait . . . the pizza guy? William? He saw the accident?"

"Yes, he did." Sera said as Jen stood up.
Jen Reylen grabbed her cell phone. "I need to question him. Do you have his number?"
Sera did and did not want her to have it. She hesitated too long and Jen knew she had the phone number. Sera slowly gave the paper over and Jen called the number. Mrs. Reylen was on the phone for several minutes in another room.
When she came back she looked at Sera and said, "Ten minutes and we are going down to the station."
There was no question just a blunt fact in place. Sera dreaded this so much.
The interrogation was cringy and so awkward. Hearing all the details from William once again made her feel sick.
"Sorry I had to repeat all of that." Will said to Sera as he stood up and went to hug her.
William's touch felt a bit cold and distant. "I know, thanks though." Sera didn't move from the chair. She just watched as Reylen and Will walked out of the room together and spoke.
Her grandmother's voice filled her mind. It whispered again to Trust No One! What else did Cora know?

That same night Aiden was asleep when he dreamt of an older lady. Her hair was white and her skin was buttered with a fading tan. She looked somewhat familiar to him. He watched as she took the green stone from him and throw it on a table then hammered it to death.
She told him to burn the rest of it. It was the only way to get back to normal. And also to let her rest in peace. Who was she and who the heck was she? Sera?
Aiden told Angelle everything the next morning. "And you're 100 percent sure about all of this?" Angelle asked.
Aiden chewed his Apple Jacks then spoke, "Positive." He said in a quick and fading whisper.
All day long Angelle worried about the stone. It was right where Aiden had put it when they went to check on it.
"Aiden." Their mother said from his doorway. She held up her arm and in a her hand was a landline phone. "It's for you."
"Thanks, mom." He said getting the phone. "Hello?" He said to the unknown caller.
"Destroy it." A woman's voice rasped out. Then the call went to the awful sound of flat lining.
