Chapter 1 - Unexpected Dinner

I was lying in my bed, currently in the most comfortable position known to man. I was cosy and warm. I stayed up all night partying, so my plan was to not get up until this wretched hang over pisses off.

"TIA!" The greyhound that guards the gates of Hell yelled from below. Well, when I say that i meant my oh, so lovely mother, Margaret Black.

"Tia!!" she yelled repeatedly. She stomped up stairs and blew my door open.

"What is it?!" i groaned. She tugged on my covers. I put up a good fight not letting her have my warmth. After several minutes, she had won that tug of war as i finally gave up.

"Why are you still in bed?" she glared at the bowl of vomit that i had created several hours before she barged in. I called it Herald, the Vomit Pot.

"Don't tell me you were out all night again?" she ran over to find all the unused dresses she had bought me the previous month. I don't see what was so attractive about those hideous dresses, so i threw them to the very back of my closet and ever since i have never looked at them again.

"Here, Tia. Wear this." she threw an extremely hideous baby pink granny dress at me.

"Mother, i am not going to wear that piece of sh-"

"Tia!" she cut me off before i got the curse in.

"You know we don't have time!" she moaned.

"Time? For what?" i rubbed my eyes and picked the dress with my index finger and thumb and threw back into the closet like it was last week's garbage.

"We need to go have dinner with the Dawson's." she sighed heavily.

"Why do i have to go?" i moaned.

"It's important. I'll be back in five minutes, so get ready!" she stomped out the room. I threw a pillow after her and fell back into bed.

"She didn't even close the door!" I yelled. She returned in which seemed seconds.

"TIA! UP! NOW!" She screamed grabbing my foot and pulling me out of bed. I hit the floor with a thump and a yell.

"Get ready NOW!" She yelled pulling me onto my feet. She walked out the room again slamming the door behind her. I yelled out loud. I had no choice but to get ready or I would be in shit. I walked into my wardrobe and pulled on a black and white strapless dress and my union jack converses.

"Come on Tia you fathers be waiting for twenty minutes." My mum shouted from downstairs. I ran downstairs to see my mum waiting at the door. I rolled my eyes at her then grabbed my jacket and was out the door.

I was in the back seat of my dads 'XJ Portfolio'.

"Why do I have to come?" I asked for the eight time.

"You'll know when you get there. Now stop asking" My father who i rarely ever see, was sitting there impatiently waiting for me to put my seat belt on.

"Dad, Is this meeting so important that you actually cared to show up, because you never seemed to be there any other times even when mum-" My mother glared at me.

"Stop, Tia." she sighed. I looked out the window, nothing was said for the rest of the journey. The Dawson's lived about an hour away from our house. We pulled into the drive way of their three story mansion. I unwillingly climbed out the car and followed my parents up the path to the door. Although I had been here once before the size never ceases to amaze me.

My father who nervously pressed the doorbell still continued to smile even when one of the butlers answered the door.

"Come in, Mr. Black." he bowed.

"Thank you." i gave a half smile as he led us to the grand doors of the dining room.

"The Dawson's are waiting, you may go in." he opened the doors for us, and we were kindly greeted by Mrs. Dawson's sweet smile.

"Margaret! How have you been?" she lightly pecked my mother on the cheek.

"I've been well, thank you." she smiled.

"Ah! Then this must be Tia." she smiled at me and gave me a light hug, well, more of an air hug i guess. I gave her a half assed smile and looked over Mrs. Dawson's shoulders to see my father talking about 'business' with Mr. Dawson. A guy who sat there at the end of the large dining table was looking down at his hands under the table.

"Let's have a seat." I was seated next to him as my parents took the seats across from me. My mother eyed at me, silently telling me introduce myself to the guy next to me. I just rolled my eyes at her.

"Go on." she whispered only letting me hear.

"H-hey, what's your name?" I finally asked him. I got no reply, not even a simple grunt. He just sat there continuing to text on his phone, ignoring everyones existence at the table. So I decided to get his attention in a way he would never forget.

"Hey, you know, if you want to keep 'sexting' can you not do it while you have company?" i said loud enough for everybody to hear, i raised an eyebrow. He quickly looked up at me as my mother did spit take and completely embarrassed herself.

"Did you just say what i thought you said in front of my parents?" he mumbled quietly. His hands were balled up and his knuckles were white as if he was ready to punch something, or someone.

"What's sexting?" Mrs. Dawson asked curiously. I had to hide my face for a second to control my uncontrollable fits of laughter.

"It's..." My mother hesitated.

"Something your son quite enjoys doing underneath the table while he has company." i sniggered.

"That's enough, Tia!" My father snapped. I gave a weak smile and laid back on my chair.

"Tia!" my mother whispered disappointed by my actions.

It's been about an hour since we've arrived and i've learned that the by sitting next to me was called Leon, and it seemed like h also learned my name. Me and Leon keep swapping looks throughout the dinner.

"Shall we get down to business?" Mr. Dawson spoke as he placed his cutlery next to his empty plate.

"Yes.. we should." my father nodded. Leon and i looked at our parents in confusion.

"As we age our business grow bigger, and we would like to keep them going many more years to come." Mr. Dawson looked over to me and Leon.

"Since you are the only son in our family, it is only natural that you become the heir of our business." he raised an eyebrow at Leon.

"Leon, you know fair well that Mr. Black and I have been acquaintances for twenty years. I am obliged to help him in the business industry, for the growth of their future, and for ours." My father nodded in agreement.

"So we have came to a conclusion seven years ago." i gulped as he looked directly at me. I turned to my mother and saw her breathing heavily as she was as nervous as i was.

"You and Tia will join in conjugal ties."

"WHAT!?"
